Trends in social media come and go — and so do sitcoms about them. ABC has decided against ordering any additional episodes of their low-rated Selfie sitcom, effectively cancelling it.
On the Selfie TV show, social media superstar Eliza Dooley (Karen Gillan) realizes that she’s disconnected from the real parts of her life and enlists her company’s marketing guru, Henry Higgs (John Cho), for help. The rest of the cast includes Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Allyn Rachel, Tim Peper, Natasha Henstridge, and David Harewood.
The sitcom got off to a mediocre start on September 30th, registering a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.31 million viewers. The ratings took a big dive in week two, falling to a 1.1 in the demo and 3.77 million. The numbers dipped lower as the weeks progressed. This week’s registered a 0.9 rating with 3.23 million.
ABC cancelled companion sitcom Manhattan Love Story a couple weeks ago and now the network has cancelled Selfie as well.
For now, it looks like the network plans to air the remaining seven installments. However, if the ratings drop any lower, ABC will likely pull it.
What do you think? Did you like this sitcom? Are you sorry that there won’t be more episodes or a second season of Selfie?
Seriously need to reconsider the cancellation of this show. Selfie is everything right about what’s wrong with society today. I Love this show and I don’t go on sites to petition or vent my frustrations with idiotic decisions made by Network bureaucrats. Do yourself a favor and give Selfie a second season.#BringSelfieBack
Please save the show, I really like the show, even if at first I didn’t like it much. The show is very funny and you start to get attach to those characters. 🙁
Please don’t cancel it!
It is fun!
My husband and I watch the show on demand and we love it! We think it’s hilarious, the casting is spot on and the story lines are fantastic. I love everything Henry stands for and think the world could use more people like him and also that they do exist. Hope it will come back for a few more seasons!
Sad to see it go. Maybe the shoe was ahead of its time for the rest of America
I thought this show was very well done. I’m in the 18-49 demographic and think that it was trying to tell the digital/cell phone age to put your phones down once in a while and enjoy what’s around you. But it also showed that you don’t have to be so proper all the time and it’s ok to cut loose and have some fun. I will miss it, and I will be watching the last of the episodes. I mean, come on…Eliza and Henry haven’t even told each other that they like each other yet…you can’t cancel/pull at least until… Read more »
Please bring this back!! It’s so funny.

Loved that show. I hope you bring it back
So it gets turned off just like that?! Bs!! I loved that show. Turn it back on!!!
Selfie is a simple feel good show. Not a keeper but really cute. Sorry to see it go.
Save Selfie, is sooo good!
I really liked selfie. It was about two friends who were total opposites and started to teach each other how to be better. It made you feel good. I looked forward to this show. It’s too bad it ended.
I didn’t watch this show simply from the premise (and the title, which was an instant turn-off). Although it is clear from these comments that it has its audience, I am not one of them, and I am not surprised by the cancellation. I do agree with others, though, that networks are a little quick on the cancellation draw. I doubt they have anything to put in that timeslot except reruns, so it seems a pointless decision.
You can’t judge for the comments here almost every show that is cancelled there are people here saying “I love the show” “best show ever”.
I didn’t like Selfie at first. I found that it is a good show now. I don’t want it to go off the air
