What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, Stumptown stars Cobie Smulders, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Cole Sibus, Adrian Martinez, Camryn Manheim, and Michael Ealy. In the TV show, Dex Parios (Smulders) is a strong, assertive and sharp-witted military veteran who lives in Portland, Oregon. She has a complicated love life, gambling debt, and a brother with Down syndrome, Ansel (Sibus), to care for. With only herself to rely on, she solves other people’s messes with a blind eye toward her own. Her military intelligence skills make Dex a great private investigator, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and the police aren’t her biggest fans either. Other characters include Grey McConnell (Johnson), a bar owner and Dex’s friend; casino owner Sue Lynn Blackbird (Cardinal); Dex’s friend Tookie (Martinez), a taco food cart owner; and Lieutenant Cosgrove (Manheim) Detective Miles Hoffman (Ealy) of the Portland Police Bureau.

Awesome show pls renew and keep the seasons coming
Stumptown is a breath of fresh air. It is exciting and it is relatable to the average person that has flaws. Keep it coming!!!
Fabulous show – Stumptown! If ABC doesn’t have the guts to go with season 2 then Netflix, Amazon or Hulu should pick up this cleaver, dynamic, and throughly entertaining show that always leaves my wife and I hungry for more! We live in Big Bear, Ca.
Need season 2!!!
I love this show and would be very disappointed if there is not a second season.
Every Combat Vet can relate to this series! The fact that it focuses on a female Combat Vet is even better! It is real! It honors the ones who served! It Inserts hope and breaks barriers for those with Down Syndrome! There is so many reasons to renew this series! Please give it better press on the media circuit and it will pull viewers because of the real-world scenarios and the heart-felt messaging so needed now! These characters are flawed just like us all! This is a series on point in todays’s world and we can all heal from it!
I’ve totally enjoyed this series. Not too much violence, good storylines and great set of personalities!! I look forward to Season 2!!
This is an excellent series. The characters and story lines have depth and substance to them. It’s head and shoulders above some of the mind numbing crud that gets renewed season after season.
I like this show, it’s original, quirky and unpredictable. When I sit down to watch what I have DVRed, I always wind up watching Stumptown first.
I liked the first couple of episodes. Then it got kind of lame with Dex’s sex life. Now, the stories are still good, but no fights, no car chases, no thugs, no etc. I’m tired of the autistic kid brother – they should have cast her little bro as a skateboard punk – so many themes that could have come off of that. The BEST SHOW EVER is Chicago PD. And it isn’t the same since Sophia Bush left. If they could have made Stumptown a little more like CPD, then the show would have been a huge hit. But… Read more »
The skateboard punk theme has been done before. Troubled little brother. That would call it unoriginal and boring. Cole Sibus is who he is as an actor. He’s a dry unemotional character actor. That’s the best an autistic person can do. He’s working within his means. You knew that going into the first episode. The fact that Dex has the character Ansel in her life is relatable to anyone with a sibling they feel they have no other choice than to take care of because of unfortunate circumstances. Dex knows Ansel has two options: stay with her or spend his… Read more »
Hope Stumptown is renewed.
Please renew. Change the slot to Weds at 8 or 9, or Sunday at 8. Or keep it where it is, but renew, Don’t cancel!
For me STUMPTOWN has very important storylines and is very well cast. Located in a beautiful yet old historic and interesting city.
PLEASE keep this very important series going into our future. Well written & thought provoking military issues v civilian adjustments & life styles.
We greatly appreciate the series!!
You give this series some real promo time you may just have a big success!!!
I agree. I don’t know anything about Cobie Smulders or Jake Johnson, but this actor and actress have some real talent. Michael Ealy I known from a few works and he’s good too. The storylines are not cheesy, typical of everyday life. Anyone can relate to them and that makes them worth watching because they are not just a work of fiction and not a stretch. Is there conflict and heartbreaks? Absolutely! This shows is the real deal and doesn’t try hard to be. Just lets it unfold in a natural setting.
Just love Stumptown and all its characters. Hopefully, it will return and not be cancelled.
The show has interesting characters with fun interactions. The plots keep you guessing. Hoping for Season 2.
I hope Stomptown is renewed. Those watching it on hulu get counted?
