NBC‘s new Wednesday night series Taxi Brooklyn has an unusual premise — but sometimes that’s what it takes to become a hit show these days. How’s the series been doing in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Taxi Brooklyn follows Cat Sullivan (Chyler Leigh), a tough NYPD Detective who doesn’t let a demotion to foot patrol stop her from trying to find her father’s killer. She finds an unlikely ally in Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), a taxi driver from Marseille. The rest of the cast includes James Colby, Jose Zuniga, Jennifer Esposito, Bill Heck, Ally Walker, and Raul Casso.

This police series got off to a lackluster start at the end of June with the first episode drawing just a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.34 million viewers. The ratings have gone up and down over the course of the season but have trended downward. Last week’s episode hit a new low with a 0.7 demo rating and just 4.42 million viewers.
Ordinarily, numbers like these would mean that a show would be cancelled outright. However, NBC licenses this show from EuropaCorp Television so their costs are lower. While it seems likely that NBC will cancel Taxi Brooklyn, EuropaCorp could potentially produce a second season and find another US outlet to air it.

This is a great show what an ending I love this show. It keeps my interest from beginning to end. Please find a way to keep it on. After all they always find a way to keep some of those stupid reality shows on.

I realize that shows are supposed to hit a certain number to be deemed “viable”, and therefore worthy of renewing, but this show needs to be renewed!! It took a couple if episodes to get into it, but once you got through them, the show is fantastic!! I think a large problem is the severe lack of advertisement for this show too!! I am a giant TV show watcher, and I see advertisements for tons of shows, but I can’t even remember seeing ONE advertisement for this show!! You start a show in the middle of the summer and expect it to get high ratings? Give it a shot during the regular season and don’t deprive the viewers of this great show. Same thing happened to Gang Related on Fox. Give the viewers what we want, not what you want.
Please do not cancel taxi brooklyn. It may have started slow but, it has become one of my favorite. Take off some of the reality shows, they are not my type of show. It seems to be all that seems to make it and I don’t understand, how good programs keep getting cancelled and
the reality shows go on.
Please renew this show…I’m really tired of good shows being cancelled and stupid reality shows getting renewed over and over.. This is a great show. I love the banter between all the characters. Also, this has to be one of the best endings…and I really need to know what happens..

Come on NBC!!! this show is amazing. You didn’t do anything to help it by advertising or putting it on mid-summer. This show is great. I have JUST started watching NBC again after refusing for years since you cancelled ALL your good shows. Blacklist & Chicago PD/FIRE brought me back, then you cancelled Crisis!! Most frustrating network ever. Do NOT cancel Taxi.
