A couple weeks ago, we reported that Debra Messing tweeted that NBC had ordered five additional episodes of The Mysteries of Laura. It now appears that wasn’t the case and the actress had confused the network’s ordering of five additional scripts for episode orders.
Today, the network actually ordered some more episodes but they only want three, well short of a full season pick up. While the additional episodes order is good news for fans of the series, it would seem to indicate that the network is not very happy with the series’ ratings.
The Mysteries of Laura revolves around a brilliant-but-harried NYPD homicide detective (Messing) who must also juggle raising her young twin boys as a single mom. The rest of the cast includes Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, Max Jenkins, Callie Thorne, and Med Steedle.
What do you think? Do you like The Mysteries of Laura TV show? Should NBC have ordered more episodes? Do you think this is a bad sign for the future of the series?
My husband and I love the show. Look forward to wednesday. Keep it coming
I didn’t think I would get use to watching Debra Messing in any other role but Grace, so I was prepared not to Like Mysteries of Laura…HOWEVER it is the only series that I watch on Thursday evening. It would e a shame to cancel the show…so much crap that NBC s choosing to renew.
My daughter and I love the show. The characters are all likeable evev the witchie boss lady is growing on me. I love Debra Messing she is so hard ass and I love seeing her play this role. The cast is great. Its filled with humor and some serious things too. Please don’t cancel t. My daughter and I wat h it together the same way we used to watch the Gilmore Girls.
PLEASE, DO NOT cancel this fun and entertaining show!! This is a good clean show that the whole family can{and does } watch. We look forward to it every week and really missed seeing it tonight!

I’m so happy the embassy went with 3 more episodes of mysteries of Laura I love the show it is action packed it is excellent it’s something that I look forward to watching every week so besides just 3 more episodes renew it for another season.
Only 3 more? Come on, NBC. This is a good show. What killed it was the snotty new boss. But, she’s growing on me. You need to quit canceling or ordering less episodes based on the ratings of shows because your rating method sucks!! You are targeting the WRONG demographics. And, if you keep canceling shows that people watch, you are going to lose viewers. We get tired of getting invested in a show, and then you cancel it! I know that our ranting doesn’t affect you in the least, but we can hope that you see these and have… Read more »
Also, I don’t watch when it is on. I tape my shows and watch at my convenience. Some shows on too late for me.
I love the show. Do not take it off. I keep losing all of the shows a like (well not all) like Alliegence, Whispers, The Returned, and others.
Great show,
Nahhhh…..you think so
If more people watched mystery of Laura
