A couple weeks ago, we reported that Debra Messing tweeted that NBC had ordered five additional episodes of The Mysteries of Laura. It now appears that wasn’t the case and the actress had confused the network’s ordering of five additional scripts for episode orders.
Today, the network actually ordered some more episodes but they only want three, well short of a full season pick up. While the additional episodes order is good news for fans of the series, it would seem to indicate that the network is not very happy with the series’ ratings.
The Mysteries of Laura revolves around a brilliant-but-harried NYPD homicide detective (Messing) who must also juggle raising her young twin boys as a single mom. The rest of the cast includes Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, Max Jenkins, Callie Thorne, and Med Steedle.
What do you think? Do you like The Mysteries of Laura TV show? Should NBC have ordered more episodes? Do you think this is a bad sign for the future of the series?
I know a lot of people that are looking forward to more of the series and season 3.One of the best shows on
The Mysteries of Laura is a show that appeals to those of us who want a mystery show with good inter-personal relationships. It is one of the few TV shows that I watch and hope that NBC will renew the program.
Fun and funny with strong female presence not enough of that anywhere – keep it
I love The Mysteries of Laura. I hope NBC renews the season.
Please do not cancel this series… I love it…
I love this show. Please do not cancel it NBC! And why didn’t you give them more episodes! Shame on you.
I love this show!
It is well acted, fast paced, and the costumes, the camera work, and the romance between Laura and Jake emotionally right -on.
Please, please, continue this show for at least another season. Feb.17 th was one of the funniest, and smartest ever.
Thanks
Love, love Mysteries of Laura and hope it is not cancelled!
This show is so unrealistic that it should have never been aired in the first place. Hard to believe that NBC, with so many other great TV series opted to tarnish their brand with this fairy tale show.
Whoever runs this show has made the typical Hollywood mistake of trying to improve something that needs it, & has failed in an attempt at boosting poor ratings by making wrong decisions. Josh Lucas should never have been cast. He has no range as an actor, has a weak screen presence, & there is little chemistry between him & Debra Messing. The story line of him being her Captain holds no water because that situation would never be allowed in the Police Dept. & who would EVER take a bump in rank & salary from Captain to Detective strains credulity,… Read more »
Love the Show! It has mystery, thrill, romance, kids, humor,MAX! minus the brutal scenes. Hope it continues for a long time. Want to see them together!
I really like the Mysteries of Laura show. It is a lot better than many other TV shows. Love the cast, especially her and Jake. I think Debra Messing’s show ranks right up there with the NCIS’s and Chicago Trilogy, which, including ‘Laura’s show’, are my 7 favorite and my most watched shows. Good luck ‘Laura’, I’m really rooting (& praying) for you! Side note: Take off most or all the reality shows, and extreme violent shows; that breed and feed into the creepy lives of voyers and tyrants. The TV World needs more ‘Laura’s’, ‘Jake’s’, ‘Grissom’s’ (CSI), ‘Gibb’s’ (NCIS),… Read more »
Love the show! Please keep iit on.
I just watched this on Netflix. I really enjoyed the show. NBC needs to do more advertising for this show and definitely bring it back. I did not know of this show when it was on regular TV. If I had seen more advertising I would have definitely watched it. I love Debra Messing. Always have since Will and Grace. Please bring it back for another season!!!!!
I completely agree! Hope NBC continues this show…This and Undateable, but mostly this show! Has all the right notes to have a great following. ABC’s Castle is one of my faves and this is my NBC fave that hits all the same buttons! I really hope it’s renewed and we can watch the characters and relationships evolve some more.
this show is a nice change and hope that the network gives it a chance and more advertising to help. Please
