A couple weeks ago, we reported that Debra Messing tweeted that NBC had ordered five additional episodes of The Mysteries of Laura. It now appears that wasn’t the case and the actress had confused the network’s ordering of five additional scripts for episode orders.
Today, the network actually ordered some more episodes but they only want three, well short of a full season pick up. While the additional episodes order is good news for fans of the series, it would seem to indicate that the network is not very happy with the series’ ratings.
The Mysteries of Laura revolves around a brilliant-but-harried NYPD homicide detective (Messing) who must also juggle raising her young twin boys as a single mom. The rest of the cast includes Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, Max Jenkins, Callie Thorne, and Med Steedle.
What do you think? Do you like The Mysteries of Laura TV show? Should NBC have ordered more episodes? Do you think this is a bad sign for the future of the series?
I have to know if Laura & Jake get back together??I love this show!Plz don’t cancel it!
Best cop show on tv. Like the characters, and story lines. Keep it on!!
mu favorite series and it’s connected series…no a bit happy it is off and hope you bring it back. Most of it’s replacements are garbage.
Please don’t cancel this show I really enjoy it. It’s funny, dramatic, and got romance! Please please don’t cancel!!!
Please do not cancel this show. There are so many half hour “comedy” shows that should be canceled that hang on forever. This show is great.
I wonder where all the fans are these network expect. With cable,On demand, and network playing with schules and other ways to watch TV. To expect the number of people to be watching like past years. so maybe I’m looking at wrong.
There are only a few good shows that we watch all on the same channel; otherwise, we watch movies from our DVD collection, the news or Netflix. We enjoy watching The Blacklist, The Voice, The Blind Spot, Mysteries of Laura, Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, Law and Order’s SVU. It would be nice to see a comedy, but they all seem mostly dumb. We liked Something About A Boy, but it’s off the air. We cancelled our cable TV as there was never much on. We like movies, some educational interesting shows like the tree house guy and show for animal… Read more »
I really like Mysteries of Laura. Had to catch up on al the episodes I missed, now I have my DVR set to record, and it is not coming on. It seems that the networks cancel everything that keeps the public’s interest. Some of the commercials are better than some of the shows they keep season after season. How about cancelling some of these stupid reality shows?
This is a great show that allows the public to see what a single, working mom has to deal with on a daily basis and being a police officer certainly makes it even harder. The humor along with the darkness she sees in her job makes for an excellent show. I would hate to see it cancelled.
I love this show so much. Debra messing and whole cast are delightful. Exceptional acting and stories. Please don’t cancel it. We want to see what happens next. Hope Jake and Laura get back together.
I LOVE THE SHOW, they should make more episodes and keep going this the seasons, every episode keeps thinking or what Laura will do
I think this show is great. I like the humor and I think that it has loveable characters, for instance; I didn’t like Sanitiani when she came but was sad to see her go.
I like the mysteries of Laura. It is one of NBC’s better shows. I would like to see Jake and Laura get back together. I always watch CBS most of the time but I really like this show and would like to see it renewed.
I don’t have cable but watch this show religiously on Hulu the day after airing… I love it! Please don’t cancel, I want to see Jake & Laura together again!!!!
PS. Does Hulu watchers account for the ratings too?
I’m a fan. Not every cop show has to be dirty and gritty Love the humor mixed in with the serious. Please renew this series.
