Another TV show won’t be coming back. A&E has cancelled The Returned after one season of 10 episodes.
On The Returned, the residents of a small town have their lives turned upside down when some of their loved ones appear to return from the dead. The cast includes Mark Pellegrino, Tandi Wright, Jeremy Sisto, India Ennenga, Sophie Lowe, Mat Vairo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kevin Alejandro, Sandrine Holt, Dylan Kingwell, Aaron Douglas, Rhys Ward, Leah Gibson, Agnes Bruckner, and Michelle Forbes.
The series debuted with disappointing ratings on March 9th, garnering a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.54 million viewers. The numbers got much worse as the season progressed and the 10 episodes ended up averaging a 0.38 demo rating with 1.05 million viewers.
To no surprise, the cable channel has decided not to order any additional episodes. The defacto series finale of The Returned aired on May 11th.

I just watched finish watching season 1 last night and am horribly disappointed there is no season 2. I was on the edge of my seat every moment — Loved It! Hope they reconsider cancellation.
I agree with Bob! Totally disappointed Season 2 was cancelled. Loved the twists and turns of Season 1. Couldn’t wait to find out more in Season 2 only to find out it was cancelled. This blows!
Yeah total crap! I just spent 10 hours watching season 1 only to find out it’s canceled. EXACTLY why I don’t watch tv… Especially SciFi. They come with these premises but can’t ever figure out how to reveal the ‘mystery’ before it’s over.
The show kept me on the edge of my sit! That’s why unless its a Netflix series. I don’t get involved with TV or Cable series anymore. There’s no point because chances are they will cancel it 🙁

The Returned should not have been cancelled! I watched the whole first season in a day. I really enjoyed it. When I found out it was cancelled I was really bummed. I really would like to see it come back on. I want to see what happens with all of them. I was stoked to see something like this. I wish it would come back on. WHAT A SHAME!
I spent one whole day watching THe Returned. I loved it. If it’s not renewed you should at least finish the story. It really pisses me off if through all 10 episodes and then that’s it. Gone. What a shame.
I loved season 1 of the returned I really really wish they made a season 2 still keep hopes they will bring back the returned the u.s verishon I’m so mad they caneld the show!!!

I think it’s unfair for the people that got interested in this show, to be left hanging in mid story. I’m. 66 and my daughter is 46, and we was looking forward to it coming back on. BIG DISSAPOUNTMENT!
I saw the original French version of this show on Netflix and LOVED it. I didn’t know there was an American version by the same name. The show “Resurrection” was also an American rip-off that was thuddingly boring. I’ve been waiting well over a year for season 2 of the French version and some of the comments here say that it finally came out in late 2015. I’m hoping that season 2 will show up on Netflix soon.
