How will CBS deal with the death of Bill Paxton? Deadline reports Training Day will pay tribute to the late actor during this week’s episode.
Paxton, who played Detective Frank Rourke on the freshman drama, passed away on February 25th. The series, a reboot of the 2001 film, also stars Justin Cornwell, Katrina Law, Drew Van Acker, Lex Scott Davis, Julie Benz, Christina Vidal, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
According to Deadline, this Thursday’s episode of Training Day will include a “special dedication” to the actor. Filming on Training Day‘s first season wrapped before Paxton’s unexpected death, so the actor will still be featured throughout the rest of the season. However, it’s still unclear if CBS will renew the show for a second season or not.
Ratings were already low for the reboot series before Paxton’s passing. So far, Training Day is averaging a 0.77 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.165 million viewers.
New episodes of Training Day air on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Do you watch Training Day? Do you think the show should continue without Paxton?
My husband and I both love the show. We will continue to watch. We really liked Bill Paxton and the entire cast.
Love the show, loved Bill Paxton, I will watch it even though Bill made the show. Maybe you can find someone as good.
I think maybe we should think about it a little like bill wud he want the show to go on I think yes how I dnt no as he had a really big part frank kicked ass but still had moral really good top epic actor will mis him rip bill paxton legend peace out to ur famz
Loved the show and loved Bill Paxton, will miss him in the show. I would watch if he was replaced.
I haven’t watched the show, and I’m just now finding out about it, but I loved the 2001 movie, so I’m sure this show is amazing with Bill Paxton in it. I’m sure they can find some way to honor him and still continue the show.
Enjoy the show, especially Bill Paxton. He is in my prayers
I think they should go on it was good with him on it but I really like the chemistry with the other three also. I think they could pull something good out of it. One looking for answers for the death of his father’s the other story line bringing the killer of frank to justice. While they are doing that forming a bond that can’t be broken.
Love the show. I will miss Bill. I will still watch but it will be different.
No he makes the show. It would be weird without him.
The show isn’t bad, but I have to say Bill Paxton made a “not bad” show great; He was my reason for watching. Loved the way he played the part of Frank.
