How will CBS deal with the death of Bill Paxton? Deadline reports Training Day will pay tribute to the late actor during this week’s episode.
Paxton, who played Detective Frank Rourke on the freshman drama, passed away on February 25th. The series, a reboot of the 2001 film, also stars Justin Cornwell, Katrina Law, Drew Van Acker, Lex Scott Davis, Julie Benz, Christina Vidal, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.
According to Deadline, this Thursday’s episode of Training Day will include a “special dedication” to the actor. Filming on Training Day‘s first season wrapped before Paxton’s unexpected death, so the actor will still be featured throughout the rest of the season. However, it’s still unclear if CBS will renew the show for a second season or not.
Ratings were already low for the reboot series before Paxton’s passing. So far, Training Day is averaging a 0.77 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.165 million viewers.
New episodes of Training Day air on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Do you watch Training Day? Do you think the show should continue without Paxton?
I love that show! It was one of my favorites! At least put it on DVD.
I personally love this show. Please please do not take this show off TV..seems like the TV would rather have drugs… killing people than have great shows on the TV rather than have good shows like this…
Sure hope they let this show stay on in rememberance of bill Paxton…
Maybe some one should ask his wife and children…
Only a thought
Kindest regards
Mary
Yes I do want the show to continue. Bill Paxton should be killed off by the same person that killed his partner because he got to close to find out who the murder was. And the others that worked with Paxton. After a while they will be working other cases they finally find out who is the person that had killed Bill and his partner because of some of the other cases they were working on they found out that from some other cases seamed to fit withe killings of Bill and his late partner. Sounds good to me, but… Read more »
I watch the show every week even with the loss of Bill Paxton the show should go on, when the ratings come out I noticed there using 18-49 age demographic, my guess is they forgot about all the baby boomers who are watching the show I grew up on police shows like FBI , Streets of San Francisco, dragnet I guess we don’t count after all it’s us who have the time and the money to buy the sponsors products, How about less reality shows and more family shows or police or drama shows
My husband and I both like the show very much we feel they should be continued in his honor you have a great show
This is a very good show we feel it should be continued in his honor at least even for one more season please take that into consideration we enjoy the show very much
I very much enjoy Training Day! I enjoyed the movie as well and this TV program has continued the film. Billy Paxton had really brought great acting 2 this set! I think 4 a tribute 2 him u should pick up Mark Wahlberg in his place?? Or perhaps Schwarzenegger?? Now that he’s not over bearing with his muscles! Please don’t let the show end its got excellent twists and dips that u don’t c coming as a viewer till its right upon u!! Thank u 4 ur time!!
Love training day. Bill Paxton. Made the roll his. He was great. I like the show. It would be a shame to cancel it. I’m sure there is a tough guy who can add to the show.
I really loved Bill Paxton in the series, but it would be a shame not to find someone to take over as an added team member like Bill’s character. You know that type of rough and tuff guy that get’s the job done around the law. It was hard to watch the show but I had to see everyone of them with Bill in them. Bill’s passing really hurt because he was too young to go like that. I will miss him.
i would love training day to come back for another season!!!!!!!!!!
Great show. So sorry Bill Paxton died. Sad. I do hope the series continues.
Training day is great. Loved it from the first episode. I was saddened by the death of Bill Paxton great actor. He will be missed
Hope you find a way to continue the show
My husband and I love training day. I think the show should go on. My husband and I think Mark Walburg would be a good replacement. He has similar looks of Bill. He is a little younger but I’m sure he could be made to look older. Thank you Vallery Donahue. RIP Bill Praxton
My husband and I really enjoy the show, especially Bill Paxton, we hope it will continue but Bill Paxton will be hard to replace. Very talented actor!
My boyfriend and I watch the show. We thought it was awesome. We hope that they don’t take it off and replace bill was somebody else yes it will be hard to replace him he was a great actor.
