Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

come on someone put season 3 on it was great
Just another reason to not watch ABC. V was one of maybe 3 shows I watched on this network. Hopefully some other network picks up V. ABC’s loss. If the creators of V read this please peddle your show elsewhere. I for one would like to see season 3.
Damn it u tv ppl!!!!!!!!!!!! Another GREAT show taken off! BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!
V was a very good show. But, I never knew when it was coming on. If I had a DVR then like I do now, I would have set it to record every episode. I too do not like reality shows, we have enough of police drama. Game shows, geez. Give me V anytime.
I am so pissed that ABC took off V series. I am here waiting like a jerk hoping to see the new episodes. Who in the hell is in charge of canceling tv shows. This was one of the best series on ABC. There are people like me who do not like reality shows, police stories, or medical drama. I think ABC need to send me one of there nielson rating box so they could get real opinions from a person who is not like the average. I am so pissed that this show is forever gone.
Illuminati has something to.do with it
The V was a great tv show. I commend the writers for a job well done. The greatest tv show will be sadly missed by many……..Could we have one more season?????
THIS IS CRAZY I LOVE V TV SERIES WHY DID THEY HAVE TO STOP MAKING IT, IT WAS JUST GETTING GOOD IN SEASON TWO, AND IT EVEN HAD PEOPLE FROM THE OLD V IN IT. COME ON PEOPLE AT LEAST END IT WITH A GOOD ENDING SOMETHING THAT’S GOOD AND EXCITING YOU GOT THIS FAR FINNISH IT FOR THOSE WHO DO LOVE V.
It is sooooooooo sad that they have cancelled it!
I am really mad about that!
I wish and i think that they will go for a new season one day 😉
I am pissed this isn’t going to be on again. I can’t believe some of the shows the network saved over this. It was so intense and so well writen.
I saw bring it back!!!
This is sad news. Damn!
these tv execs wouldnt know a good show if it ran up and bit them in the ass!! this was another great show (along with chase/nbc) that is no longer………maybe i can see some more of american idol or americas got talent or some other piece of crap show they are making these days…….BOOOOOO!!!!
I can’t believe they canceled V. What kind of idiots are making the decisions at that station anyway. Every time they get something good on the air they just cancel it. I wonder if CBS has someone on the inside helping with the decisions.
Season one was great! I loved being able to catch up on the shows I missed online. I honestly believe that not showing the show online for those who missed it left me, at the very least, very upset with no way of finding out what happened. I purchased both seasons on disk just so I could catch up. The show was very well put together and I think it would have caught on if ABC would not have put so many restrictions on viewing the show. So many people are watching on portable devises now days, that not allowing… Read more »
I WAS REALLY HOPING FOR SEASON 3. I HOPE NEXT TIME THEY DONT PUT SO MANY RESTRICTIONS ON THE SHOW. INTERNET IS THE NEW AGE ABC SHOULD KNOW THIS
It didn’t catch on because the plot progressed TOO SLOWLY!!! If ABC knew there was a chance it would be cancelled, then they should have reached a major milestone by the end of Season 2 and left some cliffhanger for the next one.
