Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Bring “V” Back. We must know how it ends. Or at least put it on DVD.
I would buy it in a second. I did not care for the orginal ” V” But this one
was very well written. I am very sad that the powers to be are stuck on
green bar paper. Sometimes the needs of the few out way the needs of the
many. BRING IT BACK !
Come on ABC, let the fans enjoy the final conclusion to such a great series… This is such bull @#$%… It is all about the almighty dollar with you executives; every time you Networks feel NO money is being made, you cancel a show… If you DO NOT allow the conclusion to this great series; I am DONE with ABC… NO MORE viewing from me… And I am sure other will feel the same… Why get involve with a series, just to be dissapointed the show will not have a finally… NO ending…??? PLEASE… I hope the producers will continue… Read more »
The sad reality folks is that in the minds of those that sponsor shows for ratings, as well as their hopes at reaching a vast sea of show follower to solicit commercial time to, the ratings (much like the fate of Firefly after one season on Syfy) did not support their overall goal of profitability. The show, its overall concept, and its ingenius delivery in recreating the present remake of an all-time classic (in spendid fashion I might add) truly made for a spectacular ride. However, the sponsors’ purses, as well as those who could not embrace the depth of… Read more »
Noooooooooooo they can’t be cancelled. im sad. i have been waiting for the third season since months……just to learn it’s cancelled..
Are ABC mad, it has a big following here in England, it was the English who got 24 on the map as that was due to be canned in the states due to poor ratings but our fans kept it going and we all know what a success that was, come on ABC be brave and take a gamble….
This is not fair at all. Just to stop in mid air….leaving all
the loyal fans hanging,. I am really so upset. Now they
have put on some really stupid shows. Makes me not want
to become interested in any series for fear of it being terminated
leaving you wondering what happened. A stupid, stupid move
on someone………………
This is Bullsh*t thats Shoe Biz at iTs Best……………………
I liked V, what a way to relax in the evening. I am very sorry that it was cancled. I am in hopes that the powers that be will reconcider
Typical american television, to start series and kill it when it is not good enough for them. A lot of people like it but it is always about the money.
They say that the second season had a low rating. I think that it is because the writers left less and less hope for humanity. The Aliens won every battle. I don’t think people enjoy watching terrible loses, devastating failure and bleak future to humanity. It was too much!!. There must be episodes where there are at least some satisfying victories to humanity which leave some hope for winning.
This is a #*$& shame that the best TV (different from all the rest) would be cancelled at the same time another alien in nature show would also be cancelled (the Event). But back on V “com’on Man!!!). This show was excellant from the actors to the writers to the production. It can’t always be about the dollar, this show was a work of art. The Goverment is the ones that probably shut it down, we’re not stupid.
this is so wrong guys….why to cancel the V … after the second season i was expecting to see how would it end! and just now i found out that there won’t be any more! no more V, no season 3? why? I am 24 this was the only tv series that is not usual…Aliens is something different for tv series…always comedies, crime, dramas, supernatural, but never Aliens! PLease ABC think about it! Erica and Anna i already miss you!
This show was GREAT!!!! Which IDIOT cancelled it!!! I was on the edge of my seat every week. Sad it’s gone!
