Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

The problem is that these types of shows (V and Heroes) are not the type of story that can continue indefinitely. However, the writers try to write them so that they don’t end. In the end, they get absurd and dull.
I was quickly tiring of the show. The epic battle was forever postponed. I guess that if the show ran for 5 more seasons, we’d still be waiting for that battle to start. If this would have been written as a 2-season show, it would have had a phenomenal run. As it is, it died an inglorious death just like Heroes.
We have to many damn reality and way to many talk shows. All I can say is WTH.
I havr to agree, abc cancels so many good shows. Thats why i hardly watch them anymore. If it wasnt for live with kelly and the view, i wouldnt watch the channel!
the broadcasting associations should fine these large corporates its an absolute disgrace how they are allowed to drop these show especially when we’ve spent our hard earned cash on media like DVD’s etc. . May be a fine might make them A little more committal!
I’m sick of ABC canceling everything we watch in our house. Are u going to keep anything?
Seems that none of the stations can ever finish a sci/fi series. I have a whole list of shows that I wish had decent endings. I hated the way CBS ended The Medium but at least it had an ending.
This is bull ****, in the 80 i watch this show and i was so happy abc . made a come back ,no one will ever know what happen in the end.
I have to agree with just about everyone who wrote in ABC repeatedly does this, it appears they have people in positions of power who are incapable of committing to seeing things through.
this sucks…..i kept waiting for it to return but it never did. I finally actually have a show to look foward to watching and they go and cancel it…..way to go ABC….i won’t even start watching your shows anymore, becasue you never know you may cancel those too!
Cancelling V is stupid. It was on of only 2 shows I watched from ABC, this and no ordinary Family which were bot canned. Well it does make one les channel to look at when finding shows to watch. Hey SyFy here is one for ya.
I love this show.
I agree with Anonymous I am so done with ABC…..they cut the series off over and over with no closure at all…not thinking of the viewers they have committed to their shows….I won’t bother again…..sticking with CBS….
Decide nt to watch anymore series of ABC they cancel all the good series
Really sad about the cancellation of V love the series all my family decide not to watch ABC series again always do the same thing, they canceled all the god series.
