Compared to last year’s Law & Order: SVU’s season premiere in the same timeslot, the network was down by 21% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 16% in viewership (vs 7.63 million). This certainly wasn’t a great start for a new series. On the positive side, almost everyone who started watching the pilot episode stuck with it until the end. That’s kinda rare these days, particularly for a 10pm show. Next week’s numbers should be very telling.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

What do you think? Do you like the Chicago Fire TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

My fiancé and I absolutely love Chicago fire. Plus my fiancé loves everything to do with firefighters, haha. But it is one of the most realist dramas I have ever seen for a television show. I look forward to every episode, and hopefully every season. :)
