Monday Mornings: To Be Cancelled or Renewed for Season Two?

Monday Mornings cancel or renew?TNT recently wrapped the first season of Monday Mornings, their latest medical drama. Should it return for a second season or be cancelled instead?

Monday Mornings follows the lives of the talented yet flawed doctors at the Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon. The title refers to the tough peer review meetings that are run by the hospital’s sarcastic Chief of Staff. The cast includes Ving Rhames, Jamie Bamber, Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao, Emily Swallow, and Alfred Molina.

The show started off the season with just 1.36 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was less than half of what the Dallas premiere lead-in drew with 2.98 million and a 0.8 demo rating.

The numbers for Monday Mornings didn’t get much better as the weeks wore on. The season ended up averaging just 1.39 million viewers and a 0.3 in the demo.

Given these numbers, it seems highly unlikely that Monday Mornings will be back for a second season.

But what do you think? Would you like to see the show return for a second season or do you think it should be cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on with a bigger audience? Was the title a problem? What would you have called it?

Monday Mornings? One of the best shows i’ve ever seen! I only found out about it because my boyfriend told me Ving Rhames is going to b on a new medical show; not because of excellent marketing. I never seen it advertised! Besides that, the title sucks! Everyone HATES monday mornings! Who is going to mash the info button on the remote for a title like MondayMornings? You would think its like another Today Show or Good Morning America. TNT; if you know whats good for your bottom line you will bring Monday Mornings back foe season 2 and do a better job at marketing the show!

PLEASE do not cancel MMs, give it another chance. This show did not receive enough advertising to catch on at this point in time. Having worked in the medical field MMs is reality and portrays a side of the truth not seen. Keep it on the forefront!!!!!!!!

How can a David E. Kelley production be anything but outstanding? Look at his track record – L.A. Law, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, Chicago Hope! RENEW, PLEASE!

I love the show and hope it isn’t cancelled. There definitely hasn’t been much publicity/advertising about it. I’d really hate to see it go.

Monday Mornings is FANTASTIC!!! Best medical drama ever! Love all of the characters, especially Dr. Park (Keong Sim)! Real life stories make you feel like you are there in the hospital. Please, please bring it back. TNT needs to advertise it more because this is an excellent program with very good actors! Alfred Molina as Dr. Hooten is so compelling! I LOVE THIS SHOW!

Please please please give this show a chance at season 2. It is one of the best shows on television and I am sure, if given the chance, will find it’s audience.

Monday Mornings is extremly well writing Medical TV show with a great cast. We look forward to watching this show every Monday night and we TIVO it for any reason we are not going to be home in time to watch it. Like Marcus Welby, M.D. I beleive the show would benefit from a better night like Tuesday night and a time slot of 8:00pm and no later than 9:00 pm in the evening for viewing but I’m just a viewer. The show has great cast Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! don’t consider canceling. Looking forward to it’s return.
