TV show description:
This crime drama follows a presumed dead former-CIA agent named John Reese (Jim Caviezel) who teams up with a mysterious billionaire, Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), who’s also believed to be dead. Their goal is to to prevent violent crimes by using technology and their own brand of vigilante justice.

Finch is a software genius who has invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people who are about to be involved in violent crimes — either the victim or the perpetrator. It was originally built for the government to prevent another 9/11 disaster but found that it was predicting less catastrophic, “irrelevant” crimes. Finch built a “backdoor” into the machine so that, before erasing the “irrelevant” data each night, Finch is sent the social security number of a person about to be involved in a serious crime.

Finch recruits Reese because of his special training in covert operations. Using their combined skills, resources and advanced surveillance technology, they work outside of the law to identify “persons of interest” and stop crimes before they occur.

Reese’s actions draw the attention of the NYPD — including homicide detectives Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman). The latter is a corrupt cop and Reese blackmails him into being a source of information inside the department.

With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that locating the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything.

I love this show. I actually like the Samaritan story line, but I do hope the thing will be killed off by middle of next season. I think all the actors are very good, I’m attached to them all. Elias *sigh* I like him, and I hope he somehow makes it back. I just pray there’s not some long, convoluted Sameen arc.

The show makes you think, which not too many that watch TV do. I can remember when the US was a democracy and a good place to live, now it is going down hill on slick skids, thanks to the standard of a high school education that promotes one of lowest standards in the free world. I love this show and hope we can get Sara back.

I have never felt strong enough about any tv program to ask that it be kept…. UNTIL
      PERSON OF INTEREST.
The programming and episodes are one of the things I look forward to seeing.
Other than being bullet proof the overall plot and casting is wonderful.
      thanks for keeping it….

Person of interest is one of the very few programs that I enjoy watching and there is no other program I would stay up until 1000 pm to watch.
I salute any effort to bring Person of Interest back.
    Please do so without delay.
Tbe ‘machine is watching’ is not as far fetched as some would wish to believe.

Having a government like we do is because people are being dummed down by the govrernment. Through not demanding high education standears. Through not demanding disciplined behavior and parental monitoring of children in the home.

Person of interest is the only show i actually record on tv, it’s the only show i don’t ever want to miss an episode of. I hope they get a 5th season, I’d love to see the team rebuild the machine after that amazing finale.

This is one of the better written shows out there. It is the only show that I have ensured is on my PVR. It would be a shame to see it go.
Besides, isn’t “Samaritan” an analogue for the NSA?

You have to consider that the average American is an uneducated, mindless, moron. to watch 90% of American Television. If it is advertised on TV it is believed. That is why we have a government like we have.
