TV show description:
This singing competition TV series is hosted by recording artist Nick Lachey. The show scours the country in search of the best a cappella groups, ranging in various sizes and ages.
The competition begins with 8-16 singing groups who have been chosen by audition. They each perform popular songs in weekly competitions and one group is eliminated each week via judges voting. Prior to the live finale, viewers help decide the winner.
The winning singing group walks away with a Sony Music recording contract and $200,000.
In the final episode of the third season, Urban Method, Dartmouth Aires, and Pentatonix were left standing and perform with the judges. Smokey Robinson also performs.
Urban Method is eliminated because they received the fewest number of votes from viewers. Dartmouth Aires (from Dartmouth College) is the runner up group and Pentatonix wins.
First aired: November 28, 2011
