Lifetime has cancelled Army Wives, their long-running drama, after seven seasons. While there won’t be an eighth season, the cable channel has plans for a two-hour retrospective special with castmembers which will air in early 2014.
Army Wives follows the lives of a diverse group of women living with their spouses and families on an active Army post. Created by Katherine Fugate, the series has starred Catherine Bell, Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Wendy Davis, Brigid Brannagh, Kelli Williams, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Brooke Shields, Ashanti, Torrey DeVitto, Elle McLemore, Jesse McCartney, Terry Serpico, Drew Fuller, Alyssa Diaz, J.J. Soria, Joshua Henry and Burgess Jenkins.
Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Lifetime, said, “There is no denying how special Army Wives has been to both Lifetime and the television landscape. By taking on a very relevant and timely issue, it has brilliantly captured the challenges our military families endure and the bravery they and their loved ones display while serving our country.”
What do you think? Are you sorry that there won’t be an eighth season of Army Wives? Do you think the special should wrap up the storylines in some way?
I am so disappointed that Army wives will not continue after 7 seasons! I am normally in bed by 9:30 and I have stayed up until after 1:00 watching this show! Please continue it! It is awesome and helps us know how our military fights for our country! I LOVE this show!!!!!!!!
Just finished season 7 what a good job! This was a very informative season all 7 of them very very well done. There should be more seasons or another shore related to these army wives or army families. Great casting and I recommend anyone wanting to know about what family life is like in what can be done especially in circumstances dealing with the family of returning military personnel, thank you for the very informative and entertaining 7 seasons that I was able to watch I will miss it thank you.
This Army Wives was the best show on TV and Lifetime left us with one HUGE CLIFF HANGER!! WHY?? People were NOT tired of this show and we want more!! In season 6 all the good main characters were being taken out so knew they were stopping the show!! Very angry at LIFETIME for leaving us hanging!! Typical TV producers, JERKS!! I have another name for them but won’t write it here!!

I agree.
We loved Army wife. Please make more seasons. The support these woman give each other and supports their soldiers is so inspiring.
I watched the series for the very first time and feel like it ended with a cliffhanger. There has to be a season 8, 9, 10, etc. Best series ever!!!
I totally agree!!!
We need to see what happens. I have just finished watching. The show didn’t end correctly. We loved the show and would loved to have had a great ending
I’m re-watching the 7 seasons, I will love this show and everything its about. Being an Army wife I understand everything each family and person goes through. I wish Lifetime would have continued this show.
Just finished all 7 seasons. I needed to see more of how their lives unfolded. I needed to see know how the LeBlanc’s were doing. I needed to see how the Burton’s faired in Baltimore. Did David’s Bio Dad make it through rehab. Did Emalin get along with the the Lt.’s daughter. Where Penny’s plans for her baby to go to Charlie & her wife honored. Did Michael marry the Lt? Does Tim get better? Did Roxy get the faulty wiring fixed? Thanks for leaving us hanging!!! A missed opportunity to repay loyal fans with a happy ending or at… Read more »
Maybe we should contact Lifetime requesting to continue, they dont have any good show .
Watching it again, it is an exceptional series, not only the women, but the men.
The casting, the stories.
The series do not have an ending, at least they could have it.
Please not late to continue
I am now watching the whole series again and once again I am so sad that there will not be a season 8….this has been the best series ever in the history of television.
Would be so happy if they picked up and made more to add.
It was truly disappointing how it ended it made it seem like more was coming and then you’re left empty. Consider coming back.
