The CW has decided to remake CBS’ cult classic Beauty and the Beast TV series. Will it be cancelled quickly or become one of the few remakes to outlast the original?
Beauty and the Beast revolves around a female homicide detective (Kristin Kreuk) who years ago witnessed the murder of her mother at the hands of two gunmen. She was a saved by someone or something that wasn’t totally human. Now, years later, she meets her savior (Jay Ryan) again. He helps her solve crimes while she keeps his existence a secret. The cast also includes Nina Lisandrello, Brian White, Max Brown, Nicole Gale Anderson, and Austin Basis.
Airing on Thursday nights, following The Vampire Diaries on The CW, Beauty and the Beast will have to compete for viewers with Grey’s Anatomy on ABC, Person of Interest on CBS, Glee on FOX, and The Office and Parks and Recreation on NBC.
With that kind of tough competition and compatible lead-in, do you think the show will be a success for The CW? Before you answer, here are a couple previews:
What do you think? Based on what you’ve seen, will Beauty and the Beast be a ratings hit, a moderate success, or cancelled quickly? Will you watch it live, record it, watch online, or skip it altogether?
filipino’s really love beauty and the beast! keep it! please!!!
In my country I could see it just now … actually more online than in TV, but as it already ended like there is going to be some follow up, I hope I can see whats going to happen next….
Cutt quickly.
Because this show just cannot and will not match the secret circle. It’s views will go downhill. The show was boring and too anticipated. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST COPPIED THE SECRET CIRCLE BEGGINING!! The secret circle started off with cassie on her way home when her car stops and calls her mum and same with beauty and the beast. The cw just can’t make beauty and the best nearly as good. The critics are bullseye with this show.

i think it should be given a chance and not cut short like Tarzan was so many years ago
I sure hope this show lasts until at last into the Feb Rating season. Of the 9pm shows, I rather watch Beauty and the Beast and Person of Interest. I do not care for Glee, nor much of the NBC lineup. And am not a Grey’s Anatomy fan. If I picked one over the other, so far it is even for me on BandB and PoI. Not watched BandB yet, but do hope it keeps going so I can enjoy enough episodes.
