At one time, The Blacklist was once of NBC’s top-rated shows. Those days are now gone and the peacock is trying a spin-off, The Blacklist: Redemption TV show. How will this series do in the ratings? Could it become a replacement for the original? Will The Blacklist: Redemption series be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Airing on the NBC television network, The Blacklist: Redemption stars Ryan Eggold, Famke Janssen, Edi Gathegi, Tawny Cypress, and Adrian Martinez. Terry O’Quinn recurs. A crime drama action thriller, this spin-off of The Blacklist features the slipperiest offenders from Red’s (James Spader) notorious list. Howard Hargrave (O’Quinn) founded Halcyon Aegis. Now his son, Blacklist undercover operative Thomas “Tom” Keen (Eggold), has joined Halcyon Aegis’ Grey Matters branch, led by the brilliant Susan “Scottie” Hargrave (Janssen). The unit also includes assassin Matias Solomon (Gathegi) and mercenary Nez Rowan (Tawny Cypress), as well as cyber hacker Dumont (Martinez). Out to redeem themselves for their past sins, the team tackles seemingly insurmountable predicaments that even governments won’t. Will their new, daring missions finally help these tortured creatures save their souls?
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Blacklist: Redemption TV series on NBC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
5/12 update: NBC has cancelled The Blacklist: Redemption after one short season. Details here.
Not a surprise that it was cancelled. NBC did a really bad job with it. The ratings weren’t very good. Too bad.
love it
Without my bro Red, there is nothing worth watching here. Boring!
I’ve just started watching on DVR. I’m amazed at how good this show is. I’m a loyal “Blacklist” viewer and was expecting more of the same. This show should be marketed for what it is: something very different and, at least from my perspective, very different and compelling.
Renew! This a great show with good actors and suspenseful story lines. Now that they got who actually is the bad guy out of the way, this show will get even better.
This mini-show could have easily been a story arc within the original Blacklist show. It got bogged down a bit when left on its on feet. It needed life-support but didn’t get it at the right time. Maybe the defibrillator battery died! I loved the characters but the writers failed them!
Considering how the setting up for Redemption basically transformed The Blacklist into a poor version of what it once was, I have zero interest in it and honestly lost a lot of respect for whoever was behind the decision of promoting this. I also don’t think Tom Keen is remotely interesting, much less that he can carry any storyline for longer than a few episodes. Not referring to Eggold here, as I think he’s a good actor, but the character is just very poorly developed.
Tom and Solomon are fantastic. Tom’s parents, however, and the odd sequence of events that bring Tom into their lives seem far fetched. The story line and it’s characters are unrealistic. Not sure I will stay tuned but I do look forward to another season of The Blacklist.
Renew! Love this show…great acting and very suspenseful! My favorite new show this season!!
