Last year, Blindspot debuted to very strong ratings but the numbers saw a big decline as the season progressed. The finale had about half as many viewers as the premiere. Will the ratings continue to fall? Will NBC still consider this series to be a hit or will it burn out? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
On Blindspot, a Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) is found inside a body bag that’s been left in Times Square. Jane is covered with complex tattoos and has no memory of her previous existence. FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team are called in and they discover an ever-widening web of conspiracy and corruption with a nefarious group at the center. The second season cast also includes Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson, Ukweli Roach, Luke Mitchell, Michelle Hurd, and Archie Panjabi.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/18 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Blindspot averaged a 1.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.92 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Blindspot TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
5/10/17 update: Blindspot has been renewed for season three on NBC. Details here.
I love the show very much, please don’t cancel it.
I love this show, I work full time, have 4 children and go to school full time this and the big bang theory are the only shows that I take time out of my week to watch! Please do not cancel I need a break to debunk even if just once or twice a week.
I love Blindspot! Please don’t cancel it!!!
I absolutely love the show and wished it was longer than a hour. I’m bummed when the episode is over.
I love Blind Spot and hope it gets renewed. I’m not sure what happened, but I think they missed an opportunity in the first episode of this season. What happened when Weller arrested Jane – was there a struggle? How did the CIA take her. What happened with the team? How did they cope? Did they try to get Jane back? How about Weller’s sister when she found out her Dad really was a killer. Is there a way to do a flashback episode or two perhaps. I’m not crazy about Ally or the Sandstorm characters other than maybe the… Read more »
I agree with you 1,000% about absolutely everything you said!!
I love the show. I love all the actors. Love Jane and Weller.
Love the emotions of all. I know the good guys always win but I love love love it.
Just watched the Nov 9 2016 episode of “Blindspot”. As much as I have come to hate the show, I made a discovery, tonight. It isn’t the show I hate. It’s “Weller”‘s inability to speak lines. In this episode, he did not have many lines and I enjoyed watching the episode. Somehow, though, the very few lines Weller had, he managed to mumble his way through them in a manner that rendered just about every one of his lines incomprehensible. The episode was just fine, until he had to open his mouth. If they got rid of Weller, this show… Read more »
I really liked the show at the beginning, and though it got worse as it went on, the first season was really okay. The second one is a mess, in my opinion. NSA chick is horribly written – with her as a “good guy”, scheming, lying, controlling, manipulating, it’s hard not to like the Sandstorm. The fact that I know that “good guys” always win makes the show disappointing.
I am about to stop viewing. The dialogue & action are so predictable I see little use continuing.
Absolutely love it
I love the program
The sound quality is so bad/loud I can’t hear what they are saying, especially during the action sequences. The program itself may be fine if I could hear what they are saying.
I actually agree with Why Watch. Unlike Why Watch, I still think the show has potential. However, the potential is wasted if the audio department can’t be arsed to properly mix the dialog and the music and the actors do not care to speak in a way that is understandable. In this evening’s episode (10/12/2016), I had to rewind the show 5 or 6 times, just to try to figure out what was said. In some cases we were able to figure it out, in some cases not so much. What really angers me is the scene where they figure… Read more »
The ratings are tanking. It looks like this show will become an inkspot soon.
I lost interest 2/3 through season 1. The repetitive theme throughout episodes, incomprehensible dialogue due to mumbling or music and characters I could care less about.
So you lost interest in this show so much that you purposefully went out of your way to find an article on the show and post a message about a show you have no interest in?
