Last year, Blindspot debuted to very strong ratings but the numbers saw a big decline as the season progressed. The finale had about half as many viewers as the premiere. Will the ratings continue to fall? Will NBC still consider this series to be a hit or will it burn out? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
On Blindspot, a Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) is found inside a body bag that’s been left in Times Square. Jane is covered with complex tattoos and has no memory of her previous existence. FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team are called in and they discover an ever-widening web of conspiracy and corruption with a nefarious group at the center. The second season cast also includes Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson, Ukweli Roach, Luke Mitchell, Michelle Hurd, and Archie Panjabi.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/18 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Blindspot averaged a 1.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.92 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Blindspot TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
5/10/17 update: Blindspot has been renewed for season three on NBC. Details here.
I love this show. I think the big problem was the inclusion of Nas Kamal. This lost the path of the show coming back to the beginning everything. Because everyone want to see how Kurt and Jane move on in their relationship meanwhile they find more information about the sandstorm trough the tatoos. The core of the story should move on fast. Today we are watching little skirmishes without good progress, in the second season. How I said, I love this show, just needs a little changes to back on the perfect way
Cancel this show! It is not what it used to be. I gave it a chance in the beginning but now I scroll past it so fast. Cancel this already. Waste of time.
Please cancel this show already. No one even watches it anymore. So boring, and you can use new actors and actresses (they make it so boring).
Excuse me, lady, speak for yourself. Just because you don’t watch it anymore doesn’t mean nobody else is watching it. And it’s definitely not boring at all. I myself am an writer and know when something feels wrong or when something is just plain off and predictable (I HATE PREDICTABLE SHOWS) and this show is neither off, wrong or predictable. I love this show! I’m with it in its highs and in its lows. I may not agree with 1 or 2 things, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop watching Blindspot because of it. This is like a marriage.… Read more »
I think the show has gotten so much better from middle of the first season up til now every time I watch an episode I want to watch another and keep watching
PLEASE BRING BACK BLINDSPOT! It is one of the most interesting series EVER produced! We are all missing it!!
Blindspot WAS interesting. But killing off several interesting central characters, the constant body count and shootouts, and the absurd new 8 pm time slot, all combined to make me leave.
And yes, I’m writing even if I’m no longer watching. As I said, it WAS worthwhile television,
You needed to do what I did when NBC moved their highest rated new show to their WORST time slot. Rip Them To Shreds. Unfortunately, NBC made a bad decision, and it could mean the end of the show. There are 7 episodes or so left, and the ratings aren’t getting over a 1.0 per episode lately. They moved this to Wednesdays to give that slot to Timeless, and Timeless turned out to be another lousy rated show, even with help from The Voice.
Love this show, please don’t cancel!
You are killing this show with the time slot of 8pm. PLEASE change it back to 9pm or 10pm. There’s nothing wrong with the show. If it’s failing, it’s because you’re killing it with the time slot.
They moved it from Mondays to make room for Timeless, which turned into ratings garbage even with help from the Voice. If they moved this to Thursdays at 10pm, it probably wouldn’t do much better. NBC wasn’t going to move either Chicago PD or Fire for it. It seems like they really want to end it. A shame.
I love the show but the writers did let us down this season. I still don’t think it should be cancelled because the main actors and story line are incredible. They proved this last year. The biggest issue to me is the time spot it’s on. 8:00 pm on a Wednesday??? Talk about deliberately trying to sabotage a show!!!! Bad decision. It should be in a 9 or 10:00 pm time slot and then watch the ratings increase. NBC SUCKS and their scheduling has always been a problem. We have lost great shows because of the days and times they… Read more »
I love blindspot and hat for it to get cancelled. It seems they cancel any descent, good clean shows and leave on all the junk that I refuse to watch. Thank the good Lord that there are channels the play reruns of some good shows. If not there is always netflix.
I love this show! I have bought the seasons on Google so I can watch and re-watch when I can/want. I work full time and have 3 small children so I can’t just sit in front of the TV when it is time for the show to come on. Please don’t cancel. It’s awesome! If you really want to cancel at least bring it back for a short run and wrap it up. Don’t leave us true fans hanging without letting us know all the gritty details. At least end it for us. But if you cancel just know it… Read more »
The show is in NBC’s WORST Timeslot, but it has to do better than 1.1’s to get renewed. Perhaps the +3 and +7 ratings will save it.
This show is getting worse and worse by the season. The acting is abysmal! Jane’s doe in headlights in every scene is something drinking games are made of.
Lost interest this season. Too many other shows to watch.
Hi,
I absolutely love the series. I love Jane and Kurt. I need it renewed for a third season. I need to know how Jane is connected to Kurt. I don’t care for the Nas character at all. I’m invested in the team’s development. I need the Kurt and Jane relationship. They love each other so much. I love the slow burn between them.
Yeah, Nas is a kind of ballast for the show, she is not adding anything new. As you said, everyone want to see how the relationship between Kurt and Jane grow up, but we are seeing all comming back to the beginning.
