Last year, Blindspot debuted to very strong ratings but the numbers saw a big decline as the season progressed. The finale had about half as many viewers as the premiere. Will the ratings continue to fall? Will NBC still consider this series to be a hit or will it burn out? Cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.
On Blindspot, a Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) is found inside a body bag that’s been left in Times Square. Jane is covered with complex tattoos and has no memory of her previous existence. FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and his team are called in and they discover an ever-widening web of conspiracy and corruption with a nefarious group at the center. The second season cast also includes Rob Brown, Audrey Esparza, Ashley Johnson, Ukweli Roach, Luke Mitchell, Michelle Hurd, and Archie Panjabi.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/18 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Blindspot averaged a 1.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.92 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Blindspot TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
5/10/17 update: Blindspot has been renewed for season three on NBC. Details here.
RENEW!! All the dunce caps at NBC need to do is glance at the numbers above– the 1st episode of the 2nd season of a HUGELY popular show coming off its rookie season loses ONE-THIRD of its viewership?! Wake up, NBC “braintrust”… just put the show back on Mondays at 10 and LEAVE IT ALONE! Simple. P.S. – I <3 Jaimie Alexander! BOW-CHICA-WOW-WOW!!
Ratings have been dropping, so if cancelling please give us a proper ending for this show. OR RENEW FOR A SEASON THREE PLEASE!!!!!!
Please don’t scrap the show. I am a loyal viewer. I absolutely love this show.
Cancel it. The suspense has gotten boring. Great actors, but the plot has gone to ridiculous.
Very lazy writing. Please cancel
do not cancel. it is too good. fast, suspenseful, diverse characters. not always believable, but who cares. Which Tv show is? As for characters, I like that they are changing, developing. who wouldn’t in that situation? that would be even less believable.
Renew!!!!!
seriously… don’t cancel the show. it is true that you seem to believe that by making the individuals all doubt one another .. endlessly working around one another … deceiving one another that it will enhance the viewership. Where the hell does that thinking come from. It does seem to permute many other shows as well… it’s this pathetic soap opera approach. Person to person challenges/human frailties are different from an absence of integrity and a total switch in behavior to deception you have them become pathetic in less than an hour…. I watch it because it is interesting… i… Read more »
Please don’t cancel Blindspot. It’s a great show with some great talent.
I would like to say a later time would certainly be better. Seven o’clock is too early . I feel 8:OO or 9:00 would be nice!
Where are you watching it at 7 pm? The show is on the east coast at 8 pm eastern standard time on Wednesday nights. Maybe you should move here.
So disappointed in this season. They took an excellent character and plot driven show and dropped all the integrity of the characters. They made Kurt into a ho–Nas, seriously? And all that delicious Jane-Kurt chemistry—where did it go! I mean ****, what we’re the writers thinking other than jerking around the audience? And now what’s with this cocaine addiction plot line? Totally unbelievable. What a shame to have taken this great show, great premise, great talent and killed it with hubris–you can’t do whatever you want to the characters and assume the audience will stick around. So disappointing.
Please dont cancel favorite show
I agree with everything you said!
Love love love this show. The drama is suspenseful and keeps me on the edge of my seat every Wednesday. Please do not cancel!!
Cancel this crap show already . Keep on marching against trump lmao ratings never been the same . Was a diehard fan watched every episode until the Hollywood elites decided to go political (Jane, Patterson and Tasha)surprised you didn’t wear vaginas on your heads lmao . Adios amigas!! MakeAmericaGreatAgain
I’d like to see the team take down the treasonous Trump and his elite group Russian comrades and billionaires.
*Fist bumps Batgirl* Trump: Making America Western Russia Again lol
If there is a Liberal agenda to this show, I’m not seeing it. What do you see? There is definitely a Liberal agenda with the late night talk shows and the news, but I don’t see it on Blindspot. I know the ratings started dropping during the 2nd half of season one, and I thought the people who make the show would fix whatever problems were causing this. They didn’t.
I’m half way into season 1 and a white cop just shot a black kid for no reason and the female black police chief just came out as a lesbian. You seriously don’t see it? I had a feeling this show was going to turn into a brainwashing lib fest. I wanted to find out if I should even bother continuing with show, now I have my awnser.
You can’t cancel this show without finishing the mission against sand storm, that would be total crap after watching every episode. Screw the nay sayers that want it cancelled. They wouldn’t know a good show if it snuck up on them. If you cancel this show I’ll never watch NBC again. Bu the way I watch most of the shows on your channel.
Actually, it would be hard to know if this show is any good, or not. Between Weller not being bothered to actually speak his lines above a half-hearted mumble and the audio department confusing BACKGROUND music as “the part of the audio mix that should be front and foremost… even if it means burying the dialogue”, it is very hard to know if the show is any good or not. I loved the show, before the audio department lost their heads and released crappy mixes, week after week. As for this viewer, I am hoping they put the show out… Read more »
Like this show don’t cancel please I really enjoy
Blindspot is intriguing, not predictable, with well developed characters. I enjoy this show.
