The following is the fourth part of a list of TV series that are ending or have been cancelled during the 2010-11 season.
For more, be sure to check out part one, part two, and part three of the listings.
Note: Go here for the latest 2011-12 season list.
Networks and cable channels have different ideas of when a season starts or ends but, to us, it makes sense to start the season on June 1, 2010 and and it on May 31, 2011. In some cases, the last episode of a show aired earlier than these dates but the network didn’t get around to canceling the series until later. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, try the 2008–2009 page, the 2009–2010 listings.
Scoundrels (ABC)
Airing over the summer, this TV show performed even worse than its sister show, The Gates. All seven episodes have aired and there won’t be any more.
Shaq Vs (ABC) NEW
This reality series pits the star athlete against other stars in their own fields of expertise. It ran for two seasons and 10 episodes but is now done.
Secret Diary of a Call Girl (Showtime) NEW
Star and executive producer Billie Piper signed a deal for the fourth and final season of this UK series. They’ll begin airing on Showtime on April 7th.
Skating with the Stars (ABC)
Essentially an on-ice version of Dancing with the Stars, this reality series was not a hit in the ratings and won’t be back for season two.
Smallville (The CW)
After 10 seasons, it looks like Clark Kent will finally become Superman. Will we get to see the man of steel slip on the familiar blue and red tights before the end? We’ll have to wait and see.
Stargate Universe (Syfy)
The most recent member of the Stargate franchise hasn’t attracted as many fans as the previous series. Syfy has cancelled the show and all of the episodes have now aired. Producers and MGM are looking at possible ways to continue the series in some way.
The Suite Life on Deck (Disney) NEW
After two series, it looks like Mr. Moseby is finally getting a rest. Mr. Tipton sells the ship and Cody, Zack, London, Bailey, and Woody graduate.
Supernanny (ABC)
Nanny Jo Frost announced that she wanted to end the series so that she can start a family of her own. The finale aired on March 18, 2011.
Terriers (FX)
Though many viewers and critics loved it, this series never caught on in a big way. FX aired all 13 episodes but there won’t be any more.
Traffic Light (FOX) NEW
This sitcom got poor ratings right out of the gate and they went lowers as the weeks went on. FOX has cancelled it after 13 episodes and one season.
True Beauty (ABC) NEW
Contestants on this reality show believe that they’re competing in a contest of external appearance and talents but they’re actually being judged on their inner beauty. It lasted 16 episodes and two seasons.
Tyler Perry’s House of Payne (TBS) NEW
This sitcom revolves around the Payne family who live in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. With 222 episodes, it’s the second-longest running US sitcom with an African-American cast (behind The Jeffersons).
Undercovers (NBC)
An action-comedy series that revolves around a husband and wife spy duo never really got off the ground. The peacock network has decided against ordering anymore episodes, effectively cancelling the TV show.
V (ABC) NEW
The alphabet network renewed the serial despite lackluster ratings. Season two did even worse so the cancelled it. Sorry Visitors!
United States of Tara (Showtime) NEW
The ratings had been sliding for quite awhile so the cable channel decided not to order a fourth season.
The Whole Truth (ABC)
This legal series starring Rob Morrow and Maura Tierney had lousy premiere numbers and the ratings seemed to sink lower every week. It’s not known if the network will get around to airing all of the episodes.
Working Class (CMT)
The cable channel’s first sitcom had a great start but the ratings dropped too low for it to get renewed. The last episode aired on April 1st.

What do you think? Are there any shows on this list that you’ll particularly miss?
It seems that age 50+ males drop off the demographics for television programming. Three Law & Order series gone. Defenders gone. Event gone. Two CSI’s, Blue Bloods, Good Wife just on the edge. All to be replaced with more inane (non)comedies, overly violent (non)dramas, and even more stupid (non)reality and (fake)game trash. It was exactly 50 years ago (May 1961) that FCC Chairman Newton Minow made his famous “TV programming has become a vast wasteland . . .” speech (he must have been over 50) – a statement that still holds true today. The four major networks are playing into,… Read more »
I am tired as soon as I get into a new show, it is gone. “the Powers that be ” dosen’t give these new shows a chance. I love the Law and Orders and i really liked Off the Map and sooo many more of these, “better with you” was really funny.I know that our comments will not matter to CBS, NBC etc.. , but it should. I believe I am just going to stop investing my time trying to get into new shows, I think i’ll go back to reading my books, noobody can cancel them!
Aww, I can’t believe that ABC canceled V and that NBC canceled Outsource. I looked forward to both these shows every week. I’m a huge Sci Fi fan and I LOVED the original series and yes one had to have a warped since of humor to enjoy Outsourced which I possess but even still I really liked both these shows and its a shame to see them go. All the major networks really suck b/c all they wanna show are reality t.v. shows with wannabe “celebrities” and all. Now all I have to look forward to watch this fall are:… Read more »
I am so upset with these networks & they don’t give new shows long enough to gain an audience. Even worse when they put a show on a certain night than move it to another, no wonder they don’t pick up ratings. Also it doesn’t help when a show has played only a few episodes & then is off for a few weeks or so. The Networks need to realize we viewers are the reason for there big checks. SO GIVE THESE SHOWS LONG ENOUGH TO GAIN GROUND & RATINGS !!! ONE LAST THING: For those shows that are NOT… Read more »
I am so tired of finding shows that I like only to have them canceled by the idiots who make those decisions. I DESPISE all the “reality” shows. I am tired of getting involved with a show only to be left hanging with no closure when they are canceled without an ending. I watched Detroit 187 (which was a great show), Chase, The Defenders, Chicago Code, The Event, Scoundrels, Persons Unknown,My Boys & The Gates. But the show that I will miss the most and am most P.O.ed over cancellation is HUMAN TARGET . Message to FOX : YOU GUYS… Read more »
I will miss House of Payne, The Defenders, Brothers & Sisters. Why are we taking away good shows for relaity tv. It’s all fake anyway. Wake up people
Please return the original L & O show – get rid of the stupid shows that remain on TV…It is the best show ever on TV….
There are so many very STUPID SHOWS on television – why do the network’s “powers-that-be” always cancel the best of the best – Far too many – ‘talent shows’ – they take so long to get to the end (and lately, it is so obvious that the voting is “messed up” ) – NBC has cancelled two Law and Order shows (The BEST show ever on TV) where are their brains (The writing was OUTSTANDING) go back to New York and get on with the original L&O show… Criminal Intent is the worst of the three shows…. Mike and Molly… Read more »
As ususal the mediocrity of the TV execs is stellar. Definitely the yahoos that bring us Houswives from Anywhere that has a Neiman Marcus and from New Jersey can’t seem to lower the bar of quality low enough. Good bye network television.

Off the map was great. But the V was even better. Why?
No. Won’t miss any of those. Network television has become a wasteland.
Chicago Code, Detroit 187, Law & Order LA. I do not watch reality shows and any of the 20 inane comedies.
The Defenders will be greatly missed. Awesome show. They just don’t let them stay on long enough to catch on. The show was great and should return or at least be a midseason replacement. Sucks!
The loss of Soap Operas for talk shows is just ridiculous. Deteroit 1-8-7 was great too. I am really beginning to think that these networks are just shooting themselves in the foot.
