Ben Bailey is back behind the wheel. Recently, Discovery announced the comedian will return as host for the upcoming Cash Cab TV series revival.
The original game show featured Bailey asking NYC taxi passengers trivia questions en route to their destination. The series ended in 2012 after a six-year run.
New episodes of Cash Cab are coming to Discovery Channel sometime later this year.

(New York) – Comedian Ben Bailey takes the wheel once again as the Emmy-Award(R) winning CASH CAB returns to Discovery in 2017. Bailey hosted over 200 episodes of CASH CAB and won four Daytime Emmy Awards(R) for Outstanding Game Show Host for the series. Returning to New York with a new spin, viewers can expect to see Ben Bailey ambush unsuspecting passengers alongside America’s favorite celebrities for a potentially lucrative ride. Comedian David Steinberg (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, INSIDE COMEDY, SEINFELD, and MAD ABOUT YOU) helms the project with All3Media’s Lion USA to revamp the series as executive producers, with Robyn Todd as co-executive producer. Bailey will also serve as Executive Producer:
“Holy #%$&!! Cash Cab is back!!! HUGE thanks to all the fans who pushed for the show (and for me) to come back! Never before has a comedian been so happy to go back to driving a cab. OMG I think I left the meter running!”
Bailey’s cab will take unwitting passengers who enter the Cash Cab on the ride of their life. Dodging New York City traffic, these lucky passengers and possibly joined by a guest celebrity, will take on classic CASH CAB trivia en route to their destination. If they get stumped, pedestrians and friends can help them out via phone, text or social media shout outs. If these riders get three questions wrong, though, they’re out on the street.
In addition to hosting CASH CAB, Ben Bailey’s stand-up has been seen in two Comedy Central specials, as well as his first one hour special currently streaming on Netflix “Road Rage and Accidental Ornithology.” Bailey has made appearances on 30 ROCK, PARENTHOOD, THE TONIGHT SHOW, THE LATE LATE SHOW, MADtv, and LAW & ORDER to name a few. Bailey also tours the country regularly performing standup and is the host of the popular podcast “Tall But True.” His second hour special “Ben Bailey: Live and Uncensored” is available on Amazon and at www.TheRealBenBailey.com.
CASH CAB is produced for Discovery Channel by Lion USA and Norton Productions. For Lion USA, Tony Tackaberry and Allison Corn are executive producers. For Norton Productions, Robyn Todd is co-executive producer. For Discovery, John Slaughter is executive producer.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Cash Cab? Will you watch the new episodes?
What happened to the sound on the new episodes ~ volume in and out, very hard to hear and no more comedy from Ben . . . hiding when new riders enter cab . . . no energy into the “Red Light Chanllenge” . . . Original episodes were much better as far as entertainment from Ben. Can we get back to the Good Ol’ Days please?!
Love this show, best on tv !
I like watching the show, but the only thing that made me quit was the Red Light Challenge. Why does he have to yell? It really is a downer for me. Sorry.
