It looks like The Catch has failed to catch on. The ABC TV series has been cancelled after two seasons. The defacto series finale airs tonight.
Created by Kate Atkinson, Helen Gregory, and Jennifer Schuur, the drama follows a game of cat and mouse between private investigator, Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), and the man she loves, the elusive con artist, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause). The cast also includes Jay Hayden, Jacky Ido, Rose Rollins, Sonya Walger, Elvy Yost, and John Simm.
Unlike Shonda Rhimes’ series that have also aired on Thursday nights, The Catch has never pulled in strong ratings. Even after extensive retooling as a romantic comedy, season two has been averaging a poor 0.68 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 3.32 million viewers, making it one of ABC‘s lowest-rated series for the 2016-2017 season.
Produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, The Catch was supposedly a favorite of ABC boss Channing Dungey. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to land the low-rated series a third season.

It should deff be renewed for season 3. It’s was just getting really good. You can’t have been making threats to Reece of coming for him and seeing the fear um his eyes and then that’s just it? ?? That’s crap. RENEW IT

Can’t cancel – love tbis show!!! Can’t believe it is not “rating” as claimed. This is the one series I look forward to every week! Maybe a decent time slot is all it needs! Pls bring it back for season 3!

It would be a big mistake to cancel the catch there really isn’t any series like this I look forward to this show all week and actually wish it ran longer you really need to have more episodes again not to cancel hutvto renew. Again it is nice to relax at the end of the week and have a show luge this
Maybe if this show was put in a decent time slot and not only 10 episodes, more people would have given it a chance. This is why I HATE midseason shows, they always break my heart! Bad choice ABC people, bad choice indeed!
