It looks like The Catch has failed to catch on. The ABC TV series has been cancelled after two seasons. The defacto series finale airs tonight.
Created by Kate Atkinson, Helen Gregory, and Jennifer Schuur, the drama follows a game of cat and mouse between private investigator, Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), and the man she loves, the elusive con artist, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause). The cast also includes Jay Hayden, Jacky Ido, Rose Rollins, Sonya Walger, Elvy Yost, and John Simm.
Unlike Shonda Rhimes’ series that have also aired on Thursday nights, The Catch has never pulled in strong ratings. Even after extensive retooling as a romantic comedy, season two has been averaging a poor 0.68 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 3.32 million viewers, making it one of ABC‘s lowest-rated series for the 2016-2017 season.
Produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, The Catch was supposedly a favorite of ABC boss Channing Dungey. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to land the low-rated series a third season.

This show is awesome! The acting is great, and Margo and her daughter crack me up! This was my favorite show, and I looked forward to it each week. I don’t know who these people are that have neilson boxes, but they suck, per usual! How is Greys Anatomy still on TV? That show was cool 9 years ago, time to move on people! P.S Ethan was hot!
We love this show. My husband & I look forward to watching it every week. And there are not many prime time shows that we like. We are so hoping this is wrong & there will be many more seasons.
Please do not cancel this show. Honestly I just found it this year and it is a refreshing change from many of the programs on the air. Leave something for us seniors to enjoy.

I just discovered this show during the last 6 episodes of this second season. What a great show! I am sad to hear that ABC cancelled the show today. I was looking forward to Season 3!

I am so sad that this show was not given more support by the network. so many plot twists It reminded me of British show mysteries without over the top violence. i loved the words/ repartee between the actors.I adore Jon Simm and everyone else.The only show I really looked forward to all week. Would/could another network pick this up? It’s been done before?
Great show; one of my favorites. Will miss it. Thank you for the hot lipstick lesbo scenes, very good script writing, great acting, great lighting.
