It looks like The Catch has failed to catch on. The ABC TV series has been cancelled after two seasons. The defacto series finale airs tonight.
Created by Kate Atkinson, Helen Gregory, and Jennifer Schuur, the drama follows a game of cat and mouse between private investigator, Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), and the man she loves, the elusive con artist, Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause). The cast also includes Jay Hayden, Jacky Ido, Rose Rollins, Sonya Walger, Elvy Yost, and John Simm.
Unlike Shonda Rhimes’ series that have also aired on Thursday nights, The Catch has never pulled in strong ratings. Even after extensive retooling as a romantic comedy, season two has been averaging a poor 0.68 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 3.32 million viewers, making it one of ABC‘s lowest-rated series for the 2016-2017 season.
Produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, The Catch was supposedly a favorite of ABC boss Channing Dungey. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to land the low-rated series a third season.

Please keep the Catch on tv or at least move it to another network! I am sooooo tired of the idiotic tv execs getting rid of great dramas and keeping on stupid shows that are useless. Keep the Catch on!!!!
Why does ABC cancel all the shows worth watching (like Catch & Last Man Standing) but keep the “junk”? I am very saddened that there will not be a season 3 of the Catch! We will never know how Ben reunites with Alice.
WHAT THE HELL I JUST STARTED TO WATCH …YOU HAVE TO GIVE PEOPLE TIME …..YOU GUYS THINK YOU KNOW EVERYTHING…HAVE TO DO AT LEAST A 3 YEAR RUN ….I JUST TOLD A PILE OF PEOPLE …THEY DIDN’T EVEN KNOW OR HEARD OF THE SHOW ..THE CATCH …IT IS RIDICULOUS THE BEST SHOW ARE NEVER GIVEN THEIR MOMENT TO SHINE …AND I NEVER SAW ANY ADVERTISING FOR THIS SHOW …SO HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT TO GET VIEWERS

Terrific show – fast paced, elegant and witty! Highly entertaining! The first PVR’d weekly show we watch each weekend! Deeply disappointing that it should be cancelled!!

please dont cancel this show. it is an amazing show with mixture of comedy, mystery, action and romance. The plot is something different compare to other investigating show. It tend to have drama among each other and there is no such thing as bad guy will be bad and vise versa like normal show. Thi show shows that even criminal have good in them and family to look after. I really like how everyone’s character are important in this shows and not only the good guys. There can be more plot in the show and really hope they would continue… Read more »
Too bad…I really enjoyed the show…Such a great cast and sophisticated humor…maybe it was just too intelligent for the american viewing public…oh well back to the King of Queens…ugh!
