Chicago Law is getting ready to show off what it can be on NBC. Over the weekend, TV Series Finale reported that Philip Winchester had been cast in the lead for the new addition to the Chicago family of shows by Dick Wolf.
It was teased that Winchester would appear on an episode of Chicago PD later this season to introduce the new series.
Now, fans know a bit more about this backdoor pilot. According to Deadline, the episode of Chicago PD that will help launch Chicago Law on the network is set for episode 21 this season. Production on the episode will begin in late March. That gives Dick Wolf and his people plenty of time to cast more of Chicago Law leads.
The backdoor pilot will be directed by Jean de Segonzac. The director has worked behind the camera on several other Dick Wolf pilots, including Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

I absolutely love the fact that Dick Wolf productions is not canceling any of the Chicago series, I love and watch them all. I’m so so glad they didn’t cancel Law and Order SVU I have been watching this show since it began. Dick Wolf series, It’s the best television watching there is now days. I love all their shows, always look forward to the next seasons.
I’m going to watch the backdoor pilot for cpd characters. Other than that I’m passing on Chicago Law. I rather them focus on the characters of cpd, could care less about new lawyers or a new show.
Yes, I definitely will watch and am sure it will be as good as the other Chicago stories, particularly Chicago Fire and Chicago PD.
