TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?

I liked the show a lot. The pressure of an ER plus the caring of Mamma and the head of ER services. Why wasn’t on last season (2017)?
PLEASE RENEW THIS SHOW ! It’s gritty, moves fast and puts you the viewer on the spot, to think out of the box
Please keep I really enjoy the show.
I loved code black. What happened to my favorite show?
It would be nice to see Code Black back on CBS sometime in the near future. It is a great show. It’s one of a few shows worth watching.
Best of the medical shows
I have followed TV medical dramas through the decades since “Ben Casey” and “Dr. Kildare”; and have to say, since “St. Elsewhere” and “ER”, “Code Black” is my MUST GO TO show. I sure hope CBS picks it up for at least Season 4, so we loyal viewers (who love it to pieces) can see “Angus” and “Mario” thru their fourth year to graduation (as per LAC/USC’s four year Emergency Medicine Residency Program).
Yes… Sure would like to see how Angus and Mario complete their four years ER Residency program. The show still have more stories needed to be told. Please do renew Season 4, CBS!
One of the best shows with characters that become real. Definitely want this series to continue. Great program with loyal viewers!
My husband and I watched this show together – one of few shows that we do. Loved the characters esp Leann, Dr. Neal, Momma and blonde male resident who’s brother was in a coma. These characters are so ripe for further development. We want to know more about them. We are/were hooked – hope it comes back real soon.
They are planning the new in first week of May.
I miss Code Black….absolutely love the show…. the characters are fantastic… love Mother…. When is it coming back?
love this show. definitely should continue
Love Love this show. I’vekept a few episodes on my Tivo, particularly the epidemic one’s where people were dying and Leanne finally was able to open her heart and her home up. I think I re-watched those shows at least a dozen times and still always cry. This is an excellent and thrilling show and I’m totally hooked.
when is it back on in 2018
Great show =
