A familiar face is returning to Criminal Minds. Recently, it was announced Shemar Moore will guest star on the season 12 finale of the CBS TV series.
Moore, who plays Derek Morgan on the crime drama, left the series as a regular cast member in season 11. The cast also includes Joe Mantegna, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, and Paget Brewster.
The season 12 finale of Criminal Minds is set to debut on May 10th. CBS has not yet announced whether the show will be renewed for a 13th season or not.

LOS ANGELES – March 16, 2017 – Shemar Moore will return to CRIMINAL MINDS to guest star in the series’ 12th season finale, Wednesday, May 10 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Moore, an original cast member from 2005-2016 (251 episodes), will reprise his role as Derek Morgan.
In the episode, Morgan brings the BAU a lead in the case against serial killer and escaped convict Mr. Scratch, who has wreaked havoc on the team all season.
CRIMINAL MINDS stars Joe Mantegna, Paget Brewster, Matthew Gray Gubler, A.J. Cook, Aisha Tyler, Kirsten Vangsness, Adam Rodriguez and Damon Gupton. Mark Gordon, Erica Messer and Breen Frazier are executive producers for ABC Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.”

Shemar and Gibson are totally missed. This has always been my favorite show for all these years, and I am 61, which doesn’t seem to count in the ratings. I haven’t enjoyed it as much since these 2 people have left, which made the relationships so wonderful to watch. I am not enjoying the loss of the 2 actors, and the new actors in the program. I haven’t either. When they left, CM lost some of its edge.
I like Criminal Minds, and do hope they continue the show. I do miss Gibson, and feel he deserves a second chance. Moore would be ice to have back too.
You people are ridiculous. It is for ONE episode. Moore already has a new full time gig. He’s starring in a new show called SWAT next season. He is not coming back permanently after the finale. And this show does not deserve a 13th season. In fact, it did not deserve a 12th. They should have cancelled it at the end of season 11, rather than destroy it by ousting Gibson and then trying to shove half a dozen newbies down the fan’s throats. Amen Megan! I can’t believe that a mastermind producer like Erica Messer can make such a stupid mistake… Losing Gibson pretty much lost the show.
Very happy to see Shemar return to Criminal Minds and hope it will be a permanent thing in the future. Have followed him since his years on the Young and Restless soap opera. Whatever his decision, Criminal Minds will still remain one of my favorite shows. Please renew this show for season 13.

This is wonderful news. I am very happy to hear Shemar is back. I love the show and hopefully the network will renew Criminal Minds for the 13th season with Shemar back.
It will be good to see him on show even if it just one show. I do so definitely hope it is renewed. It is one of a very few shows I like yo watch on tv any more!

This series just doesn’t seem to grow old. I never miss an episode. I, too, welcome Moore back.. I hope it isn’t just for a “guest” appearance.
