Year-to-year, the premiere was down by 10% with a 1.8 in the 18-49 demographic and 10.68 million viewers. It was in second place for the timeslot. Last season, there was a lot of speculation that CSI: NY was going to be cancelled (mainly because of its advanced age and lower ratings) but it survived. If the series can’t sustain or improve on these latest numbers, it would seem likely that it’s going be cancelled in the spring.
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.3 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the CSI: NY TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a ninth season?

DEAR GARY
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR 7 YEARS OF GOOD CSINY SHOWS BUT I THINK THAT WERE SEASON9 IS GOING WITH GARY AND MEGAN IS A BIG MISTAKE. SO ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT I WONT RETURN FOR FINAL SEASON OF CSINY BECAUSE I FEEL MEGAN HAS TURNED GARY INTO A LOVE SICK SCHOOL BOY AND NOT A GREAT BOSS AT THE NY CRIME LAB.
i agree megan dobbs needs to go i hope she does not have many more episodes and they get rid of her
the best drama on cbs is csiny and if in season9 with a love story it will be the only drama i wont watch on cbs
why does gary want megan back on csiny
so hello to all the regular cast of csiny for season9 and never bring back megan dobbs on csiny or you will lose over 100 fans of csiny who thinks the love story wont work on csiny after 9 years
my feelings about keeping megan dobbs on csiny is bad. I feel that mac could do better then her and i feel if she returns in season9 i will consider it the biggest mistake ever made on csiny.I think gary sinese is a great actor on csiny and he dosent need a woman to distract him at work .So i will give csiny a b but if megan dobbs returns an f because i will not e watching csiny amymore.
Please keep CSI: NY
Keep CSI NY Please……..
save csiny for season9 just get rid of megan dobbs
I love CSI: New York, It’s cast, Location, The stories and Gary! PLEASE renew this show!
leave csi on all of them
please keep csi ny.. i watch every fri. love this show the best
I watch this program every week. I think it should be renewed for another season. I love murder mysteries. Don’t cancel.
out of all 3 csi’s, i have stayed with csi ny from day one, i think its better than the other two, and thats not because of the teams either, so i think this one should stay marge
i also feel that csiny isnt doing well in the ratings because its on friday and i cant believe csi is still a good show without grissom and katherine i guess maybe csiny is being cancelled because maybe gary is leaving well you no when melina left the show was better and if gary is leaving then csiny should be cancelled
CSI:NY is the best CSI by far. The best cast, the best setting, and the best stories. CSI Miami had been rubbish for years and CSI is well past it’s best since Grissom left. Please start watching again, I’ll be gutted if it’s cancelled 🙁
