Deuce added two more members to its cast of regulars this week. The series, which will air on HBO, will star James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal. According to Deadline, the pair will be joined by Michael Rispoli and Natalie Paul.
The series will go back in time to look at the porn industry during the late 1970s and earlier 1980s in New York’s Time Square. Everything changed when HIV hit, and this series will focus on that time period.
Deadline shared the following about Rispoli and Paul’s characters:
“Rispoli plays Rudy Pipilo. A Gambino family capo running Midtown, Rudy represents the Mob’s financial interests in the sex business while indulging his personal interest in the women at its center. Paul plays Sandra Washington. Smart and hungry, Sandra is a driven newspaper reporter who probes the sex industry of Times Square from the street-level prostitutes and pimps to the moneyed investors and politicians who pull the strings.”
