The ABC TV show about what happens in the future apparently doesn’t have one. FlashForward has been cancelled after one season.
FlashForward begins as the world’s population blacks out for 137 seconds and they “flash forward” to see visions of their lives six months in the future. The series’ ensemble cast includes Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, Jack Davenport, Zachary Knighton, Peyton List, Dominic Monaghan, Brian F. O’Byrne, Courtney B. Vance, Sonya Walger, and Christine Woods.
The series debuted in September and attracted a 4.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 12.47 million viewers. With a lot of buzz, it seemed like ABC had a hit. For week two, the ratings dropped to a still very respectable 3.7 and 10.73 million.
But then viewership just kept falling, hitting a low of a 2.1 in the key demo and just 7.1 million viewers. Then, ABC pulled the series for three months. The spin was that they would relaunch FlashForward after the Olympics.
The network gave the return a significant amount of promotion but it didn’t help. FlashForward’s ratings were even worse and they just kept dropping. They’ve gotten so bad that The CW has been beating them in the demo.
To no surprise, ABC has cancelled FlashForward after one season of 20 episodes. The series finale will air in two weeks, on May 27th.

Flashforward IS the best thing going on tv. I love this show.
It has everything going for it in terms of plot, intelligence,
suspense, action, and intriguing concept. This show must come back!!

ABC did not consider the non US customers.
This series – while it is intellectual – will work in Europe, Asia much better.
So taking it global would justify to continue…
This a theory only after measuring it the future should be reconsidered…:)
I really hope another series of FlashForward is made. I live in the UK an I’m hoping that the channel that airs it here (Five) will decide to pick up where ABC left off because FlashForward really is a very good, thrilling show to watch. I also think the first series was left on a cliffhanger so am hoping that it will be picked up by someone else or ABC will change their minds. Here’s hoping!!!
FlashForward was indeed one of the best shows I’ve ever watched, it really was my favorite! I’m sad and mad that ABC took such a unfair and unthoughtful decision. The season finale surprised me, it was the best one!! Even beating Lost!! I disagree with ABC’s decision…. Such a potential, and now, for money, it has been canceled. =[
PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW! i rarely watch tv, but when I do, I make sure I watch the good stuff! Every episode of flash forward was so good, and every episode brought so much more to the show! What are they thinking trying to cancel this show?!?!?!

what where they thinking, is one of the best series ever showed and every episode kept you wanting more…do not waste more time with common and known shows, it deserves a second season. Despite that, abc will loose thousands of viewers as they get rid of such a good show. Thanks

Flashforward had the best season finale!!!!! Even better than Lost!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ABC? You truly cancelled one of the best shows of all time before it even had a chance. Read what is being said, not one person is in agreement with your decision to cancel Flashforward, NOT ONE!!!!! You changed your mind about Family Guy; change your mind about Flashforward, it is my favorite show!

I see many other shows that should be cancelled instead of Flash Forward. Many viewers like myself would have loved to see how the next blackout plays out. The last show left much to the imagination and would love to see it come back. What is ABC thinking? Thanx for the teaser.
