Tonight marks the season finale of Gang Related on FOX. It’s been a season of twists and turns but have the ratings been strong enough for the show to be renewed for a second season — or will it be cancelled instead?
On Gang Related, a police detective (Ramon Rodriguez) is torn between his allegiance to his job and co-workers and the gang and crime family that raised him. The cast also includes Terry O’Quinn, RZA, Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Cliff Curtis, and Shantel VanSanten.
The series debuted at the end of May to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.94 million viewers. That was a poor showing right out of the gate and, over the course of the season, the ratings have gotten even worse. Last week’s episode installment hit a new low with a 0.6 demo rating and just 2.01 million viewers.
The season’s averaged a 0.8 rating with 2.56 million. Compared to the network’s other summer shows, Gang Related is performing well behind MasterChef, 24, Hotel Hell, and So You Think You Can Dance.
Though expectations are lower for summer series, it’s highly unlikely that FOX will want to renew Gang Related for a second season. The ratings are just too low — and they’ve essentially been getting worse week after week. More than likely, the execs will roll the dice and try a new program next year.

The show is amazing!!! Please keeeed it going!!!! It has me hooked the same way Breaking Bad had me hooked! Canceling it would be the worst idea!!!!
First show Iv say and watched the whole entire season …. Not many shows keep me interested enough to watch the entire season. Great story line…. Really hope they bring it back
I don’t know who the people are that cause the ratings, but this show is amazing. I’m so addicted!!! The plots, the twists, the turns, the action, you can’t beat it. The network does not advertise it enough because I talk about it at work and no one has heard of it, but when I explain it they all want to know if it’s on netflix so they can catch up on it. Me and my entire family have been watching Gang Related since it’s premier. We absolutely love it. If the ratings are low then it has been promoted enough, because the cast and show is amazing. It is action packed from start to finish. The script is well written and leaves you wanting more when the show finishes. It would be a shame not to bring it back for one more season to see where it goes….it really does deserve it and more importantly the fans shouldn’t be left hanging. I agree! I have watched it from it’s first episode and I love it. My husband does as well. I would at least like to see what happens from here, if you can at least make another season to finish it out, that would be awesome. Too many shows end up canceling before they even finish it out. I hate that. So if you plan on canceling it, at least wrap it up and give it a completed ending. But honestly I think you should role with it and keep it going. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!

If people only knew about this show and watched it for a little while, they would like it and there would a lot more viewers. Too bad noone knows about this show 🙁 PLEEEAASEEEE bring Season 2.. I love this show 🙁
