Scant details have been released since it was announced Netflix was reviving Gilmore Girls. Now, Netflix chief Ted Sarandos has spoken about the reboot for the first time.
Gilmore Girls was cancelled by The CW after seven seasons in 2007.
Speaking at the winter TCA press tour, Sarandos mentioned little about the revival. He did say that negotiations with the original cast are still happening, though, and there will be an announcement soon:
I can’t tell you much about Gilmore Girls. We’re still working on buttoning down everything before our announcements.”
So far, it’s been revealed that the series’ reboot will contain four, 90-minute episodes that take place over the course of a year in present time. Series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino will return to write and direct the series.
And while Netflix hasn’t announced a premiere date yet, sets are already being built for the revival that reveal possible spoilers.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Gilmore Girls? Who do you think will return for the revival? What do you think will happen?
I will be watching Gilmore Girls. Adore the characters and the storyline. I am thrilled to have access to Netflix and binge watch the series now.
I’m watching the original series now on Netflix. I LOVE it. Can’t wait to see this revival. We need more shows like this. So much of our entertainment these days is pretty tainted with inappropriate things.
sooo stoked for this! I watched this show with my ma and we bonded over it. we’ve grown to have a friendship like rory and lorelei and we can’t wait to see what happens next!
