According to The Hollywood Reporter, Steven Soderbergh and Scott Frank are reuniting to make the Godless TV series for Netflix. Reportedly, Godless is a “limited event” series executive produced by Soderbergh, Frank, and Casey Silver.
THR says there are not many details to report about this a Western drama set in the year 1884. No roles have been cast. Godless will shoot in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Expect hour-long episodes.
Frank, who has mostly worked on projects for the big screen, wrote the screenplay for the 1998 George Clooney, Jennifer Lopez movie, Out of Sight, directed by Soderbergh. That film was an adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel of the same name.
Soderbergh executive produces The Girlfriend Experience TV series for Starz, The Knick for Cinemax, and Red Oaks for Amazon.
