David Giuntoli is stepping behind the camera for once. TVInsider reports the Grimm star is directing an episode of the NBC series’ final season.
Giuntoli plays Nick Burkhardt on the supernatural drama, which also stars Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, and Claire Coffee.
Speaking to TVInsider, Giuntoli said he had the best time directing for the first time:
Everybody was nervous about me directing because I’m a goofball on the set and don’t have a long attention span. But I was ready. I did a ton of homework. I didn’t want to let anybody down. It was the best time I’ve ever had professionally—without doubt and without exception. If you had put me in an MRI machine, you would have seen my entire brain light up!”
The final season of Grimm debuts on January 6th. Giuntoli’s directorial debut airs on January 20th.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Grimm? Are you excited about the final season?
We love Grimm, and watch it on Amazon, hopefully another network will pick it up becauce it is a witty and unique and well written.
I am hurting my ass, from this seat. Waiting on the following season. Please, Love the series.
Please don’t put another reality show or other crap. We truly want more Grimm. Don’t understand how you decide when to cancel a show and why you don’t give the good ones more time. There are so many places you could go with a show like this. We are ultimate consumers and a good demographic for you because we got the kids and grandkids to all start watching. If you are still using those “Nielson” ratings, who are those people anyway? Nobody ever calls us to see what we are watching and we have a large selection of TV shows… Read more »
Why are you canceling this show after one more season. It seems like every time we get excited about a show and look forward to watching it, you cancel it! WHY WHY WHY!???? We really wish you would keep it going past this one season. We are happy to hear that it is at least one for one, but we want more than that. We think it’s cool that David is directing. He knows the show inside and out so it will be amazing. Just let it continue and don’t cancel it before you even see how this season does!… Read more »
If anybody in corporate would read these posts, you think they would reconsider. This storyline could continue, just as that fantastic show called STARGATE. With just a little imagination the writers could keep it alive. Too bad, we’ll another reality show.
I have watched every show from the beginning. I always looked forward to Friday night when it would come on. I am so sad to see it go. it seems that some shows that are not that good stay on for ever and the good ones don’t.
We love Grimm & wish this was not the last season.
I know that anothers actors have directed episodes in their own series, but in the David´s case i would bet my money that his work as director has been thanks to the money of Bitsie Tulloch, his fiancee, because she has paid previous works of him. All is reduced to the money, Supposedly everything is reduced to money, influence, the outlet in industry and favoritism. They want to disguise it as a talent. But surely David Giuntoli is never going to Direct a Hollywood blockbuster or to win any Oscar like director. He is a TV´s actor and this is… Read more »
While I agree with your second part, on influence, I really doubt Bitsie Tulloch has anything to do with it. He’s the star of the show, and most likely negotiated it when the show was (is?) in pre-production.
