Last week, we reported that NBC had ordered two additional scripts for their new Friday night series, Grimm. It seemed that the peacock network was playing it safe, waiting to see when the ratings would level off. What a difference a week can make.
This evening, the peacock network announced that they’ve ordered a full season of the TV series. What’s more, they’re also giving Grimm a special airing in the Thursdays at 10pm timeslot. That will air on December 8th and another original installment will follow on Friday, December 9th, in the regular timeslot.
Starring David Giuntoli, Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz and Russell Hornsby, Grimm has been the only successful new drama that the network has had this season. The Playboy Club was cancelled after three episodes and Prime Suspect will sign off after all 13 episodes have aired.
Four episodes of the supernatural series have aired so far and have been averaged a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.8 million total viewers (per the final national ratings). It’s the seventh highest-rated scripted series on the network this season (out of 14). It nearly doubles the demo number of lead-in Chuck.
Grimm started the season with a 2.1 in the demo and 6.56 million viewers but declined in weeks two and three. Last Friday’s installment held steady at a 1.6 in the coveted demo and it would seem that NBC believes that a sign the ratings have leveled off. Time will tell.
What do you think? Do you like Grimm? Do you think the ratings have leveled off? Will the series continue to sink or will it rise? Is Thursdays at 10pm a better timeslot?

Love the show. Innovative. Explains the fairy tales very well. I would hate to see it end. Keep it going.
please keep grimm, if given a chance people will find this unusual show
One of the few TV series that I watch; not only watch…cant miss.
I love this show. I hope NBC continues it and if not–let’s move it to SyFy. It should continue the entire season. It’s nice to see something other than CSI type dramas.
Thank YOU!!! I was so disappointed when I didn’t see it back on TV. Very happy to see that it’s staying on. For those out there that have Verizon Fios, you can see it ‘On Demand’.
Love Grimm…….Pleaseeeeeeeee don’t cancel show
I love, love, love, GRIMM. You will regrett it if you cancel. It will find it’s place if you give it time.
Love This Show!!! When it comes out I will even buy the 1st season DVDs and I have Never Done that before.
Grimm is dark and suspenseful and great! I, too, worried when it hadn’t been on for a while. I hope this one succeeds.
I love Grimm and hope it keeps going. I was beginning to worry but now I have a whole season to look forward to.
Loved Grimm. Was highly upset that it wasn’t on the last 2 weeks. I’m glad its back and hope the story develops more and explore the Grimms in more detail.
Fantastic, please don’t leave us.
I love Grimm, I look forward to it on Friday nights and really missed it the last two Fridays. Everyone loves a good story, sort of takes you back to your childhood, so I’m looking forward to seeing how the stories take flight.
I absolutely love Grimm. I was a little hesitant at first but after watching the first couple of episodes, I was hooked. We all grew up with these wonderful fairy tales. Having an adult twist on these timeless stories along with some well written humor is a new refreshing show in the making. It is a clever mash up of several shows into one. As with any show, it will appeal to some but not all. I would hope that this show makes it for a couple of seasons. Cannot wait to see what happens next. Love it!!!
Love Grimm…..Friday night is okay, ‘cept opposite of Fringe which is my favorite, but if I have to will record Grimm or watch on 2nd tv at the same time. Also, watch Grimm on hulu at work during lunch hour or slow day. Keep it going…lots of stories to look at and yes, do a background on Grimms and also Det. Grimm’s boss. We all know something is going on…..give us some answers.
