Good news for Grimm fans. Deadline reports NBC has renewed the drama for a sixth season.
The series is currently in the middle of its fifth season.
Inspired by Grimms’ Fairy Tales, Grimm stars David Giuntoli as Nick Burkhardt, a homicide detective who battles against supernatural forces. The series also stars Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, and Claire Coffee.
The renewal is a little bit surprising. So far, ratings for season six have been middling at best, with an average of .91 in the 18-49 demo and around 3.97 million viewers.
From NBC exec Jennifer Salke:
We absolutely love what our producers and cast have accomplished over the past five seasons. They have created a whole new world of creatures and have a truly devoted fan base. We can’t wait to see what comes next.”
What do you think? Do you watch Grimm? Are you glad it’s been renewed?
Yes I’m glad they are renewed. An interesting and creative show. We too are not the target demographic being senior citizens, but the writing is solid and the premise new and different.
Thank you NBC! Grimm is my favorite show and I have loved it from the very first show when Nick met Monroe to the present day. I am also glad because I have been waiting all these years for Bitsie and David’s characters to finally marry. Adalind belongs with Captain Renard or even Meisner, NOT Nick. In the past few episodes I can see glimpses of Juliette’s loyalty to Nick in Eve. Hope springs eternal!!!
We love watching Grim. We are older than the target demographic and are completely hooked on the show! I hope this show is renewed for 10 more seasons:-)
We absolutely LOVE the characters / actors! And the special effects used to create the creatures is is unbelievable! Love the writing, as well. Keep this unique show. We DON’T need ANOTHER CSI, Law & Order or reality show. Grimm has paid its dues on Friday nights!!
I live in the SF bay area and KNTV has not been broadcasting Grimm reliably. We’ve had to wait until after midnight and watch it on On Demand.Tonight Adele’s special. How can they evaluate rateings if they aren’t making the show available?
Grimm is the BEST most original series on the TV! Only show we watch since the comedies are lame (except Big Bang). PLEASE do not cancel this series!! Cancel some of the horrible, boring shows like CSI which is the same script over and over.
Grimm is great! In this world of one reality shows after another, it’s a pleasure to watch a series with some unreal characters. Though we understand the show has many parallels to real life /society, it is great entertainment to get lost in the show’s creative storylines. Please let it continue for more seasons!
Please don’t take Grimm away let stay for 5 more seasons please it really a good show change the date it come on
This is show is super entertaining, love the idea of wesen living among us. Don’t miss an episode, the shows that should be canceled are the reality shows. Don’t get the appeal and it sends our youth a terrible message. VERY happy it has been renewed.
I have just binge watched the first 4 seasons of Grimm and love it. I am catching up on season 5 now. Was very happy to hear it was picked up for another season. I have fallen for all the characters and the fantasy (or is it?) world they draw us into.
I really enjoy the cast of Grimm; each character is so fun to watch and the story line is developing nicely. Please do not cancel any time soon. This is one of the few show I watch!
This is the best series with the best actors and the most enjoyable story on the tv. It is an exciting fantasy drama, and the family really likes it, thanks for renewing
Thank you for Gimms 6th season renewal. Grimm is one of my favorite commercial tv series. Always look forward to view the episode’s. Keep it up and give us a few more season’s, 6 isn’t enough.
I’m a die hard Grimmster! It’s one of the handful of shows that I never miss. I have been a dedicated fan since the first episode and am ecstatic to hear that it’s been renewed for a 6th season. At 38 years old you’d think I have something better to do on a Fri. night but alas, date night with the hubs will just have to wait until Sat. so I can get my fix!
I live for Fri. night to watch Grimm. It is a great show. To cancel it would be a bad idea
