Last week, ABC revised their primetime schedule and the final two episodes of Happy Town were bumped. The move didn’t come as a big surprise since the ratings have continued to drop lower and lower.
It was speculated that the episodes might air on a Saturday night in July, following in the footsteps of fellow cancelled shows the forgotten (July 3rd) and Eastwick (July 10th).
Now, the unofficial word is that the last two episodes of Happy Town won’t even be shown on TV. Instead, they’ll be burned off on ABC’s website. The show’s official network representative couldn’t offer us any details but confirmed that ABC doesn’t have plans to air the final episodes in the foreseeable future.
The writers and producers of Happy Town have been told that they’ll be released online but haven’t been able to find out when that will happen either. We’ll keep you posted when we learn more.
UPDATE: The last episodes have been posted. You can watch “Dallas Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” and “Blame it on Rio Bravo” here.
What do you think? Does it upset you that the last two episodes will be released on the Internet? Does it matter?

ABC! What r u thinking!? You keep canceling GREAT shows! Happy Town rocks!
I have serious concerns for your execs- they are seriously out of touch with the world!
Crime scenes- investigation- serial killer- duh…everyone is very interested in this genre of television. Come on boys get out of the corner office with a window and join the real world- Get to know America!
I am really ticked! What, are they going to replace it with another stupid reality show or something?..They cannot even show the last 2 episodes? Bad move ABC…..
Happytown was the first thing in a very long time to catch my interest. I’m sure they will fill the space by some horrific reality t.v. That I am Canadian means I will not be able to see the final episodes.
A sad day.
Who cares if the ratings were low, they didn’t replace it with anything better. There is nothing to watch on Wednesday night! Happy Town was the only thing on.
This is most upsetting! Why cancel a show that has little violence, but an interesting and mysterious plot that kept me interested for four weeks. I am not a regular TV viewer, but when every now and then a show comes up that is simply fun to watch, i don’t mind spending an hour a week as a couch potato! Too bad ABC felt it had to pull Happy Town off the air; doing this, it will lose one viewer for sure: ME!
I can’t believe this. We invest time in ABC and the pull the plug on us. This is the last time I will spend a second watching a series on ABC. Their executives are complete idiots.
DANG.. I LOVED THAT SHOW!
will of course watch on line…
found it compelling & unusual..
Well that really sucks, I was enjoying the show and was looking forward in finding out who was the magic man but I guess I can’t now, thanks ABC. I now remember why I don’t watch ABC on a regular basis, you suck.
Happy Town had it ups and downs. Good spots/slow spots. Didn’t thing it was going to make it but they could have at least let it air it final eps. ABC isn’t know for keeping good shows on. They have a real good habit of cancelling really GOOD shows like The Forgotten. I do believe though the last eps that aired of The Forgotten provided a very good acceptable Series Finale. I can do with or w/o Happy Town Ending. Only thing I can say for ABC is that they keep on some real turkeys and dump some really good… Read more »
I was so excited to watch this weeks episode. What a let down it didn’t show. They brought us right to the point of satisfaction and then pulled out. I figured this weeks show was going to open so many doors on the plot like last week did. Instead I get Jimmy Kimmell Live which I will not watch. Maybe they should have done a little more promotion of the show. I suspect this will have impact on whether I watch another mini series on ABC again. If it were just a show that was going nowhere I wouldn’t be… Read more »
Finally a good mystery without the usual senselessly violent murders, and what does ABC do? To pull the show only serves one purpose: it annoys viewers who enjoyed spending one hour a week in front of the TV instead of doing the usual summer activities. I for one do not intend to watch anything else instead, i.e. ABC has lost a viewer this summer. Will i watch the last two show on the web? Will i watch them if they will be aired on a future Saturday? Will i watch them any other time? Most likely not unless ABC has… Read more »
Well, that’s nice. Now that I’ve invested my time in six episodes, I’m screwed out of watching the final two. Thanks, ABC. I’ll be sure to not invest any more of my valuble time in any of your programs again, now that you’ve shown me what a sucker I was.
It points out why viewers are abandoning network TV in favour of cable. This will be the last time we watch any mini series type show especially on ABC. We will simply record the shows on PVR and if the series plays out, we will watch it later and without the commercials. That should serve the sponsors right for allowing the networks to do this. It has happened too many times with good programming that doesn’t pander to the simple minded reality show audience (think EZ Streets). Where are the TV critics in all this? It is amazing to me… Read more »
Two episodes left and you can’t show them…Really this totally sucks..Like the other comments, don’t start something you can’t finish!!! I could maybe understand if there was alot more episodes, but 2, ABC can fit them in there schedule. Its not like there is anything exciting on this summer.
I don’t watch much TV but this was one of the few shows that I would always watch, what a shame they cancel a good show with a good plot.
