Last week, ABC revised their primetime schedule and the final two episodes of Happy Town were bumped. The move didn’t come as a big surprise since the ratings have continued to drop lower and lower.
It was speculated that the episodes might air on a Saturday night in July, following in the footsteps of fellow cancelled shows the forgotten (July 3rd) and Eastwick (July 10th).
Now, the unofficial word is that the last two episodes of Happy Town won’t even be shown on TV. Instead, they’ll be burned off on ABC’s website. The show’s official network representative couldn’t offer us any details but confirmed that ABC doesn’t have plans to air the final episodes in the foreseeable future.
The writers and producers of Happy Town have been told that they’ll be released online but haven’t been able to find out when that will happen either. We’ll keep you posted when we learn more.
UPDATE: The last episodes have been posted. You can watch “Dallas Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” and “Blame it on Rio Bravo” here.
What do you think? Does it upset you that the last two episodes will be released on the Internet? Does it matter?

I agree with all of the above…….YOU HAVE NO CLUE….HIGH RATINGS……why couldn’t you give it a chance. We are so saturated with reality and just gutter shows, that you have no clue what a real program should be like.
I would suggest you give this show another chance.
ABC…..how could you? I will not watch any of your programming in the future. I am profoundly disappointed that “Happy Town” has been canceled.
Seriously???? First of all, I didn’t even know the show had been canceled until I googled to see why there wasn’t a new episode waiting for me to watch this morning. I’m totallyed bummed to find out that flash forward got canceled too! I don’t understand why everyone is so willing to watch a bunch of fat as*** on tv loose weight but supposedly no one wants to watch a good suspense. That’s what’s wrong with the US today. We’re all addicted to reality tv, addicted to watching other people live instead of getting out and having a life of… Read more »
This is an example of why I will not commit to any ABC show in the future!!
They get you interested and then cancel the show and leave the viewer hanging.
What a joke, there are no shows on TV worth watching and then something new and fresh comes along – what happens? The folks in charge of programming have no clue – they think everyone wants to see cookie cutter reality and stupid comedy shows. At least this had suspense and kept you guessing and even some good acting (Oh maybe that’s why it was cancelled). No wonder ABC doesn’t stand a chance against cable.
I’ve not taken network TV seriously for 30 years. Then low -and- behold I get sucked in to watching “Happy Town” by their promotional commercials and it was entertaining. Now this! Well…this was the last time I’ll invest any of my diminishing time on this Earth with network TV.
I do not know why they cannot show the last two shows, it is lousy that we watched it up to this point and not see how it ends.
If there’s only 2 episodes left, why can’t ABC just air them for crying out loud? I don’t care if they do it at 3 o’clock in the morning–just show it so my DVR can record it. I looked forward to watching this as a summer murder mystery show just like I did Harper’s Island last summer. Even though that show got moved from Thursdays to Saturdays, CBS did air all the episodes. Two years ago there was Fear Itself on NBC, which was another summer series but each episode was individual and did not tie in to the next.… Read more »
I don’t know who is in charge of the networks but I do know they haven’t gotten a clue. The networks now days won’t give anything a chance. As soon as something starts getting good without warning they cancel everything that takes some imagination to create. I’m at the point where I don’t even want to start watching anything because as soon as it’s getting good, IT’S PULLED!!!! I also think that the major networks need to go back to how they once operated and stay away from the tired reality shows. There are other networks that can produce such… Read more »
I was really enjoying this show & can’t believe ABC cancelled it! They should not have had such a gap between the spring premiere & the summer episodes. They could have re-run the first couple of episodes before the new ones. Those who hadn’t seen it in the spring could have caught up.
I think when you start something, you need to finish it. Otherwise, don’t start it at all! Im scared to watch anything decent anymore so I can just be left hanging!! Why dont you guys cancel all the washed up reality bs nobody but drama craved losers want to sit around and watch. If I want drama I can go to any bar in a drunken haze and get my fill!!!! Thanks for nothing yet again!
Not happy with the decision to cancel. Finally a show that had potential. With Lost and 24 done this was the only program that had any chance of holding my interest. Not for the masses that eat up the mindless reality crap for sure but judging from the comments here, there are enough of us to keep this going. My advice is to try it in the fall, not the spring/summer when people are out doing other stuff. The late hour didn’t help either.
Very disappointed in ABC once again. I can’t count the number of shows over the years they have pulled and/or shuffled around so much that you can never remember when they are on (pushing daisies, the forgotten, eastwick, etc). It’s no wonder they lose viewers. I am just about done with ABC…
A comment won’t change anything, but I was actually starting to get into this show. I only watch shows online, so the ending being online doesn’t effect me. I’m sure the only reason the ratings weren’t good was because it was a somewhat intellectual show. I loved Sam Neill’s character! In one year 2 shows I watch get cancelled, this and Law and Order. I guess it’s a sign I should stop watching TV or “tv online” and be more productive.
I would LOVE to watch the last 2 episodes online !!! I learned my lesson, though. I had thought that, this year, I would watch new shows even though I was taking a chance that they might be canceled. I even reconciled myself to the fact that if they were canceled I could still enjoy the remaining episodes that were aired. Apparently, that’s no longer possible so from now on I’m going to look at the reviews on the Internet and take my cue from them as to whether or not to get invested in a new show. If the… Read more »
