Marti Perkins won’t have to worry about how to pay for another year at Lancer University. Hellcats has been cancelled after one season on The CW.
Based on the book Cheer: Inside the Secret World of College Cheerleaders, Hellcats revolves around a pre-law student (Aly Michalka) who must join her university’s cheerleader team to win a scholarship to stay in school. The show also features Ashley Tisdale, Gail O’Grady, Heather Hemmens, Matt Barr, Robbie Jones, and Sharon Leal.
The started off the season back in early September with a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, a 2.1 rating in the 18-34 female demo and about three million viewers.

Unfortunately, those numbers started to slide pretty quickly and late last month, Hellcats fell as low as a 0.4 in the 18-49 viewers, a 0.7 in the young female demo and fewer than a million viewers.
While it’s not the lowest-rated series on The CW when you look at the season averages, it’s been in a decline all season and showed no signs of turning around.
As a result, the network has decided to cancel Hellcats. All the 22 episodes of the series have aired with the de facto series finale running last night.

WTH I just spend all this time watching it and now you tell me there is no another season horrible just horrible
i use too always say i wouldn’t dare watch it ,but i stayed up till 5:22AM to finish season 1 of the Hellcats ,it was a amazing show ,DONT understand why the show was cancelled, Should think about getting those sisters back too Hellcat IM A BIG FAN
Why??? I love the hellcats it was the best show ever!! I just got done watching season 1 I was hoping for a season 2
Just binged watch all 22 episodes on my Roku and CW Seed. Never even heard of this show 8 yrs ago. The plotlines were getting pretty weak and the acting was even weaker but Im still sorry to see it go. A better way wouldve been to have a 2nd season or even a half season to wrap up all the storylines and have a proper ending show. Oh well…guess its too late now?
I feel the same way as the others (I think) I watch a lot of CW shows including flash arrow supergirl etc. since they are coming to an end I heard about this show and I thought it was really amazing, the season finale was sooo epic, really wanted to see what happens to the coach, the relationship between Julian and martie, the sister relationship between martie and her sister and also the future for the hellcats. so 100% please bring back the show and answer all our questions, as you can see we all desperately want it back.
I only started watching HellCats because Jane the Virgin and The flash season ended and I wanted to find something else. From the first show, I fell held over heels in love. The cliff hanger really put me in a spin. I have so many questions like what’s gonna happen to the coach? Will Marti make up with her sister? Please I need answers. Please bring back the show. It’s an amazing show. Don’t just quit after one season. Please give it another shot.
Yes I’m sad. They need to give people longer to like shoes. Some of us work for a living and have harsh hours and it takes a while to find good shows we like.
Please bring back the Hellcats tv show because I would like to see what happens next in series. Besides that the Hellcats was starting to get interesting, I believe that there’s more to the series like “the vampire diaries” but the bottom line is the if you brought it back make a lot more interesting in tv show series…. Please bring it back
I started Hellcats two days ago and I already finished the first season. I honestly think if it was brought back for another season it would be even more of a hit. Very disappointed..
Please bring back Hellcats! With better advertising and given that its a new time (more people are i to shows w/ so many scandals & unexpected turns) it could be worth it! As a college student myself, i get that the underlying secrets of collegiate can be slightly off put but its reality. With the show not only do people get the drama, but they get the facts.

IMO the numbers excuse just doesn’t cut it. The real issue here is that it shines a bad light on collegiate sports, especially football. The star qb robs a pharmacy as a prank and the school covered it up. This is sort of what they do at real athletic institutions, accept they cover up sexual assaults, rape, and murder! The NCAA probably had a hand in the demise of the show. This was a show that contained realistic situations that impacted peoples lives. Hollywood doesn’t want realism. I found out about Hellcats a couple of days ago and already finished the entire series! I think it was great and should be brought back by CW! I don’t think it was publicized very well. It ended with a lot of unanswered questions. The poll above proves that it should be brought back because out of the 2, 529 million people that voted 91% of people don’t think it should’ve been cancelled!
I think that it’s all marketing,cw doesn’t really advertise on any other station and without it being about super heroes,ghosts ,mosters,or murders,people don’t talk and search to find it,but the story was awesome,just bring it back.
