Yesterday, Hallmark Channel announced that host Cristina Ferrare would be replaced as co-host by regular contributor Debbie Matenopoulos. The cable channel didn’t specify when the change would take place.
Today, co-host Mark Steines made a quick announcement that Ferrare had left the show and that Matenopoulos would be replacing her, effective immediately. Ferrare hadn’t been on the show for two weeks and didn’t return for a send-off.
Fans of the show have been concerned if Ferrare was sick and have been wondering if the decision to leave was her decision. On her Facebook page, Ferrare confirmed that she is not sick and essentially says that she was fired. She wrote:
Okay here goes, I feel it’s important to finally step up to the plate and let you know what is happening.
First may I say that my family and I have been so thankful and appreciative for all the love, support, prayers, and good wishes you have been sending me on a daily basis for the past three weeks. It pained me so that I was unable to let you know what was going on out of respect for everyone on Home and Family and the Network. I was asked to wait and I have but now I feel I should out of respect for YOU let you know.
It’s really very simple, Home and Family will have a season 5 which I am so happy for and the Network decided that they want a new co-host and that will be Debbie. She will do a great job!
You can still reach me here on facebook and we shall continue honoring love of family and friends. I truly LOVE you all. You have been my rainbow!

Christine and mark together were the heart of the show. Its not the same at all and have lost interest.

What a shame. Christina is class! Always enjoyed the show with her. Hallmark Channel’s are my favorite channels but have stopped watching Home and Family. Debbie Metanopolis is just too silly for me.
I will not watch Home and Family again. Christina helped buid the show to what it is today. I can’t stand the new women as Marks co host. Its just not the same. Love you Christina.

Big mistake letting Christina go. I don’t watch anymore. Don’t even watch the commercials for upcoming shows. Big mistake!!
I tried watching the show , but it is not the same. I will not be watching it any longer. Debbie cannot replace Cristina.
I always thought Cristina and mark. We’re a couple, she is so sweet. Now Debbie seems like the other women in a dirty situation. Love you Cristina. The show is jus try silly now. Sorry but there is no fixing it now .

I love Hallnark and I loved watching Cristina Ferrera. She and Mark were phenomenal together. There was great chemistry. However, I will no longer watch Home & Family.

Good morning, I work Monday thru Friday so I wasn’t a full time viewer but when I was off I always enjoyed watching Home and Family. I really loved Christina and felt she was very genuine. I like Mark too but I felt that Christina was definitely the lead for the show. I think the network made a big mistake replacing Christina. will no longer watch the show
I really miss Christina so much, her personality was so genuine and her essence was felt through the television screen, I have tried to watch the show, it was my intent to give Debbie a chance, honestly it isn’t the same, and I have found myself switching to Rachel Ray instead.
I must have been living under a rock. I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis and have been unable to tune in. I did today and I have to say, I did not find the warmth and fun, I had come to know. I will no longer watch this show as the chemistry is just not the same anymore. It’s sad that networks feel the need to fix things that are not broken. Very very disappointed.
I feel that Debbie needs to do something with her hair. Trim or cut she has lots of dry ends does not look attractive. You notice it more when she braides her hair…Someone help her. I cannot believe the producer will let her be seen on TV looking like that.
