There weren’t big ratings for ABC Family’s Huge series so the cable channel has cancelled it after just 10 episodes.
Huge follows a group of seven teenagers who are sent to weight-loss camp with diverse results. The cast includes Nikki Blonsky, Hayley Hasselhoff, Raven Goodwin, Ari Stidham, Ashley Holliday, Harvey Guillen, Stefan Van Ray, Jacob Wysocki, Molly Tarlov, Gina Torres, Zander Eckhouse, Zoe Jarman, and Paul Dooley.
The show debuted to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic last June with 2.53 million viewers. ABC Family bragged that it was their biggest series launch to date among women 18-49 and second largest in adults 18-49 and women 18-34.

Unfortunately, the numbers started to fall in week two and slowly kept dropping off. By week eight, Huge hit a series low with a 0.5 rating in the demo and 1.34 million viewers. That represents an audience loss of about 45% since the debut. The last episode of the season attracted just a 0.6 rating and 1.45 million total viewers.
Now, according to Deadline, ABC Family has decided to cancel Huge. Unfortunately for the show’s loyal viewers, there won’t be a second season or a true series finale. The last episode aired on August 30th.
The decision to cancel Huge doesn’t really come as a surprise, especially if you look at the great success that ABC Family has been having with other new shows like Pretty Little Liars and Melissa & Joey.

I seriously can’t believe there won’t be another season. When I found this out I wanted to cry. This show has been amazing and Nikki Blonsky was amazing. I am very disappointed because it was the only show on ABC Family that I would watch. It sent a real message and helped me. I really think they could add a lot more to the story. It makes me very sad that it ended the way it did.
yessss. i loved this show but the time it was aired was the SAME time as my other 3 shows i used to watch last summer. GRR. I hate that it was cancelled. I ended up watching it online instead of live only bc i was watching degrassi and hard time of rj burger all at the same day same time!!!!! ABC made a big mistake, i dont watch any of their other shows…
they are all about skinny rich girls or a cheesy family. Shame.
I enjoyed this series and wished ABC could wrap up what they started. I hate having series being cut short with no ending.
I loved this show. I was totally looking forward to season 2. They always cancel the good shows. I wanted to see what happened with all the love triangles.
I looked forward to watching this show each week with my daughter. I was looking forward to the next season.
I cannot believe they canceled this show!! I loved it so much, it was really good to me. This sucks. I really wish they would just give the show another chance.
I really liked this show, though I never watched it on TV…maybe that was part of the problem??? Anyway, I thought the show did need one “cool” male lead: a popular, ladies’ man type that the women adored and the men envied. He could have even been a mild antagonist…Oh well. I will miss the show as it was.
OMG i am so pissed! this was my favorite show! i thought it was really cute how they were in their own little world out there. as an overweight person myself, i was relieved to finally see a show that wasn’t about a buncha skinny b****es. this show was real, and really wanted to see how the plot was gonna play for the characters. i guess now i will hafta just read the book =[

How is the word “Huge” in the least bit offensive? it can refer to anything of any notable size … cars … boats, houses. In this case, though, Huge refered to not only their weight, but their goals, dreams, etc.

Huge was a good show !! Instead ok watching a show with skinny and beautiful unrealistic people Huge showed us true kids with different shapes and sizes ! Soo sad it got cancelled 🙁
I know that I stopped watching it on tv, but I was nipping at the bit for it to come out on hulu. I LOVED Huge, and to see that there’s not going to be a season 2 is literally making me cry. I really wanted to see the Will/Ian/Heather/camp counselor (whose name escapes me) square develop. Alistar was my ultimate favorite. Sad day. 🙁
BRING THE SHOW BACK!!!! Okay, yes the title was completely and utterly offensive. The content itself was inspiring, growing up they always made shows where the geeks won and became successful. What about the kids that are teased for their weight, made to feel like less just because we do not fit into societies perfect mold. If I could rate this show, I would rate it a 10.
Yea, I was almost turned away by the title – it seemed iffy… However, once I started to watch it, I kept wanting to see what was going to happen the next week. One thing that annoyed me: the “dusk” or “night” scenes looked like day light with a blue filter on them… a little jarring…
This was a great show – ABC Family really messed up with the title and the publicity that followed. There was SO much to this show!! The family and personal relatoinships were a wonderful thing to watch…
