There weren’t big ratings for ABC Family’s Huge series so the cable channel has cancelled it after just 10 episodes.
Huge follows a group of seven teenagers who are sent to weight-loss camp with diverse results. The cast includes Nikki Blonsky, Hayley Hasselhoff, Raven Goodwin, Ari Stidham, Ashley Holliday, Harvey Guillen, Stefan Van Ray, Jacob Wysocki, Molly Tarlov, Gina Torres, Zander Eckhouse, Zoe Jarman, and Paul Dooley.
The show debuted to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic last June with 2.53 million viewers. ABC Family bragged that it was their biggest series launch to date among women 18-49 and second largest in adults 18-49 and women 18-34.

Unfortunately, the numbers started to fall in week two and slowly kept dropping off. By week eight, Huge hit a series low with a 0.5 rating in the demo and 1.34 million viewers. That represents an audience loss of about 45% since the debut. The last episode of the season attracted just a 0.6 rating and 1.45 million total viewers.
Now, according to Deadline, ABC Family has decided to cancel Huge. Unfortunately for the show’s loyal viewers, there won’t be a second season or a true series finale. The last episode aired on August 30th.
The decision to cancel Huge doesn’t really come as a surprise, especially if you look at the great success that ABC Family has been having with other new shows like Pretty Little Liars and Melissa & Joey.

im very shocked because i loved watching huge and i cant believe that after 10 episodes that they would just cancel it that is very messed up!!!!
I totally agree, HUGE has meaning that our useful for those kids who are over weight not other shows that talks about money and stuff, i truley bilieve they should renew the season!
It’s not fair that this show gets canceled just because “Some” people don’t like it. why should the people that DO like it have to suffer?! Put Huge back on tv! I was sooo getting into it and then BAM it was off. That’s not fair to the people that want to know what happens next, and then next after that, and then the next. abcfamily took away the best show – i’m just not onna watch thy stupid channel anymore .
I loved that show, it set a good example for girls my age. This show shows girls looks dont matter! I cant believe they canceled it! It was amazing! I’ll miss it sooooosoooosoossoooo much! I wanted to know what happens! 🙁
i want them to bring this show back!! or get the show to just continue online or something!! i 16 and this show made me and a bunch of my friends feel better about ourselves, and we need this show for it gives us another good reason to be together and talk and stuff, and this show shows how hard live can be for us women!
i was really looking forwd to seeing the next season, just waiting and waiting for it to come bake on and now its not. 🙁
i think it is really sad to cancel a awsome show,since most of our young teenage girls are so down on their looks.think if they have a little bit of weight on them they are not pretty….
i just found HUGE on hulu last week and then found out that it had been canceled. i am sooooo disappointed. i loved it. although i dont have weight issues (if anything i should gain some) like the kids in that show, the show is about so much more than that and i can really relate to some of the campers. im going to miss HUGE

Yeah I just started to watch the show and went to the facebook page & saw it was canceled.
That is seriously some BS! Yet they continue to air shows like Pretty Little Liars (The title itself is a bad message for teens) wow gotta love America. Geez. :((((
I’m shocked. This show was so good! Its really hard for me to find a good show to watch, but this show had me hooked the first episode. I really think that they should “un-cancell” it. Just maybe if the show would advertise it some more during commercials or in magazines, or other places and gave it some time, more people would be watching it. I really think they should bring the show back. It was a really good show! (I love Zander Eckhouse, he is amazing! Just thought I would put that out there.)
I love this show!! it was a favorite, it made ‘bigger’ girls feel better about themselves.. i was one of them.
I am one of those people too. I really love that show and I can’t believe it is cancelled.
I am so bummed! I can’t believe that ABC Family would keep the shows with the rich, skinny,”pretty” girls, and get rid of HUGE….The message they are giving is that if you are overweight or even just a little pudgy, that you should not be happy with yourself. You need to be thin to fit in. A show that is about fat kids trying to find out who they are, has been canceled, and all the pretty girls and boys’ shows are renewed for numerous seasons shouldn’t be surprising…….I am truly dissapointed. I loved HUGE..

I agree!!!! I wrote at paper in college that was very smiliar, only mine was the media in general. I really loved this show and I really loved all the actors too. It was a GREAT show while it lasted. :'(
