Jon Stewart is returning to the small screen. Deadline reports the former Daily Show host’s new series is coming to HBO this fall.
Stewart left The Daily Show in 2015 after spending 16 years as the host of the Comedy Central news program.
His new series, still untitled, will be an animated news show. HBO programming head Casey Bloys revealed more during a recent Television Critics Association meeting:
It’s an animated parody of a cable news network. It’s Onion-like, with video and text. It’s very much Jon’s voice and tone.”
Bloys added that the series should be ready to debut in either September or October.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Jon Stewart? Will you watch his new animated series?
Of course, I’ll watch John’s new show! I loved the previous 16 years, and I loved the movie he made in Iraq. He and I think funny, and it’s the secret. If you think funny, you’ll be funny. I only wish he’d put it on Netflix, instead, so watching the show would cost me $9 instead of $187. Notice the difference. I think the show will be great!
