What’s going on with the LA Law reboot? Deadline reports the project is being redeveloped for cable and streaming networks.
Earlier, we reported the classic NBC legal drama was being rebooted for 20th Century Fox TV. The original series ran for eight seasons and starred Richard Dysart, Alan Rachins, Jill Eikenberry, Harry Hamlin, Jimmy Smits, and Blair Underwood.
The reboot comes from co-creator Steven Bochco and original series’ writer Billy Finkelstein. Now, Deadline is reporting the project will be tailored towards cable and streaming outlets instead of broadcast networks.
During last month’s Television Critics Association press tour, FOX TV Group boss Gary Newman said the new series will mix the old and the new:
They found a way to take an iconic series and bring it to 2016 Los Angeles. It is an interesting blend of old and new.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of the original LA Law series? Would you watch the reboot?
