We all saw it coming. One of the most anticipated TV shows of the new fall season, Lone Star, has been cancelled after two episodes.
Lone Star centers around a handsome conman (James Wolk) who lives a double life to swindle investors and an oil tycoon family. He starts to have regrets and struggles to balance both lives and keep everybody happy. Others in the series are Jon Voight, Adrianne Palicki, Bryce Johnson, David Keith, Eloise Mumford, and Mark Deklin.
The FOX series debuted last week to a very disappointing 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.1 million total viewers. Last night, despite several days of buzz and campaigning to get new viewers, the ratings fell even lower to a 1.0 rating in the demo and 3.23 million viewers. As was the case in week one, many people who started watching tuned out before the episode was over. For whatever reason, it just didn’t click.
Lone Star has been cancelled effective immediately and the three remaining unaired episodes have been shelved. There’s no word if FOX will get around to releasing the remaining episodes at some point in the future.
Last week, the cast and crew were shooting the sixth installment. Production has now been shut down and it’s unclear if that episode was completed.
Lone Star’s spot will be filled by the season three premiere of Lie to Me.
What do you think? Are you sorry to see Lone Star be cancelled? If you watched, where do you think it went wrong?
UPDATE: Subsequent reports have indicated that there are six completed episodes with four left unaired.

BETSY October, 10, 2010 This was a great show. Love David Keith and other stars. Plot entertaining, exciting beginning– appeals to all ages. Please bring it back.
I really like this show. It’s better that Lie To Me. I hope they put all 6 episodes on DVD.
I think they should have let the filmed episodes air. I liked the pilot. I was a bit disappointed in the 2nd episode but liked the show enough to continue to watch. I think they pulled the plug too early. I think they went wrong with the day it was on.
I saw the first episode and was hooked. I set my DVR to record the season because my schedule is crazy. The first time I got to watch the 2nd episode was a Wednesday and liked it as much as the 1st. The following week I thought my DVR was messing up. After trying to get my DVR to search for upcoming shows and found none, I was Bummed!!
****PLEASE BRING IT BACK***
I am SOOO disappointed!! Lone Star IS a good show. I have no idea what went wrong. There are so many other shows on TV that NEED to br cancelled…
It was great! Bring it back!
My family was very interested in this show! What a stupid mistake. Shame on Fox for not advertising it enough. 2 weeks is all you get? I think there are more deserving shows to get the ax. “Lie to Me?” Wish it was true.
upset and very disappointed!
No wonder I searched and searched and came up with nothing until I did my homework to find out that the show was canceled.. Not quite sure who is running the show but they definitely don’t know what they are doing goal figure..
I think u people are crazy as hell to have canceled this show.. Big mistake!!
i also loved the show. i thought the plot was great. I could not wait to see the next episode. I was so disappointed when i found out it was cancelled. Im so tired of watching a seeries that i love and ha ving it cancelled and not knowing how it ends. Its so frustrating.
This was a very good show. I hope they find another network. The big mistake was running this show during the same time slot as “The Event”.
Great show maybe other people had a different channel on not knowing about the series. Heck the first time I saw the TV Show “house” it was already in it’s second season.
This show was awesome, I couldnt wait to see the next episode… alas once again the TV exec’s screwed up.
I thought this show was great! I can’t believe it didnt make it! It was different from all the same old humdrum shows. Bummer!!!
Very disapointed it was cancelled. This WAS as VERY GOOD show. There are new shows this season the should be cancelled…like Hawaii 50.
