We all saw it coming. One of the most anticipated TV shows of the new fall season, Lone Star, has been cancelled after two episodes.
Lone Star centers around a handsome conman (James Wolk) who lives a double life to swindle investors and an oil tycoon family. He starts to have regrets and struggles to balance both lives and keep everybody happy. Others in the series are Jon Voight, Adrianne Palicki, Bryce Johnson, David Keith, Eloise Mumford, and Mark Deklin.
The FOX series debuted last week to a very disappointing 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.1 million total viewers. Last night, despite several days of buzz and campaigning to get new viewers, the ratings fell even lower to a 1.0 rating in the demo and 3.23 million viewers. As was the case in week one, many people who started watching tuned out before the episode was over. For whatever reason, it just didn’t click.
Lone Star has been cancelled effective immediately and the three remaining unaired episodes have been shelved. There’s no word if FOX will get around to releasing the remaining episodes at some point in the future.
Last week, the cast and crew were shooting the sixth installment. Production has now been shut down and it’s unclear if that episode was completed.
Lone Star’s spot will be filled by the season three premiere of Lie to Me.

I loved this show. I even got my bf to watch it too. I was starting to like it but damn… they could have warned us. Instead it was a surprise when I wanted to watch it and the show never came on.
I had this scheduled as a series recording because I loved the pilot so much! This is very dissappointing and whomever made this decision made a big mistake, the show had potential and it was just getting good! I thought there was something wrong with my series recording only to find out this post, I was also very much looking forward to watching this show, it is different that all the reality and sitcoms shows out there… what a shame, hope it gets back on air!!!
That stinks i liked this show!!! Its the first show since prison break that i really liked!
That sucks, i have been looking for it all over the tv guide. I even marked it on my calendar for monday nights. ugh……dissappointed….I loved it.
I LOVED IT… how do they cancel something after only 2 episodes .. its there own fault if it failed to advertise enough.. CRAP.. i wanted to watch it…
im really pissed you guys cancled the show i got so into within the first episode i saw i kept looking for it and it was gone out of nowhere you guys could have at least given it time to get popular or finish out the season im very dissapointed because i loved what i saw so far it was so interesting
Competition from Dancing with the Stars…..Choose another night and give it another chance!
I was a great show…maybe it just had too much competition. Bring it back in a different time slot.
Loved the show! Loved the characters….loved the concept. Fox should bring it back. Plus it’s not a law show, a doctor show, or a cop show for a change! And it’s NOT reality TV.. Fox needs to give it a chance. Only one thing in the show didn’t ring true: I’m from Midland and the show obviously wasn’t taped anywhere near Midland…… Way tooany trees!!!

The only time I turn on the TV is to watch the start of the news. I cannot stand how everything has gone to reality television these days. Everything seems to be aimed toward women or the medical field. This was the first series that I have been interested in watching faithfully in a really long time, years for that matter.
