Fans React to the News that Longmire will End After its Sixth Season on Netflix
While Netflix has doubled the drama’s cable run, fans (aka the Longmire Posse) have actively advocated for renewal in seasons past.
In the fall of 2015, they organized a social media “stampede,” to petition the streaming service for a fifth season. Netflix finally picked up season five, on Halloween 2015.
Today, the Longmire Posse’s Facebook post reflects both sadness and gratitude. Because the writers have an end date, the have the opportunity to craft a proper Longmire TV series finale. Check it out.
What do you think? Are you a Longmire fan? Is it ending at the right time? Sound off, in the comments.
I didn’t pick up right away on watching Longmire but as I did it became a favorite of mine to where I couldn’t stop watching. Walt and his other cast spin quite a tale and suspense. I wished they would consider renewing the series for still yet another 7th season
Longmire was the reason I subscribed to Netflix to begin with. My subscription started when I heard that Netflix was picking up Longmire. I guess it will end when I finish watching season 6. It’s a shame, Longmire is a great morally healthy show. It reminds me of the classic westerns like the Virginian, but in modern times. Wholesome shows like this need to be saved and continue to air. Oh Well, I guess Netflix doesn’t want my $9.99 monthly anymore.
I agree wholeheartedly
I to subscribed to Netflix because of the Longmire series. It is a shame that it is being discontinue.
Love the Longmire series. All in the family watch and share highlights. We subscribe to Netflix because of this show.
Great show. I hope they reconsider and do a season 7. It has a strong following and more and more people are still learning about it.
I signed on to netflix just to keep up with Longmire since the dummy programmers cancelled the show. Thrilled
It was bought by netflix we bought in immediately.
Now its cancelled again. What doesn’t Netflix understand? Theres no more stories to tell?
Permit prices for locations have risen? The crew
Food too expensive? Drive to time expensive?
Actors tempermental? Does Hector not want to
Help anymore? Someone please reconsider!
Cast and crew – good so good!! Thank you to all
Above and below the line
I would like to thank Netflix for picking it up . Although I’m sadden that there will be no season seven. I do appreciate the closing to a great run. To cast and crew great job! Cheers
Edited: I got on Netflix just to watch Longmire! Very disappointed to see this. Only show I binge watch. I am sure there were many more stories to be told. Hope Netflix rethinks this one.

We look forward to Longmire every season. If we had our way, it would show year round. Thank you Netflix for picking it up but it would be great if you could keep it going. We would be in front of our TV watching anytime you play it.
Love this show wish you could keep it going with a series 7. Can’t wate to see season 6.
I for one am not happy about Longmire coming to an end. The show is so well written and I love all the stars. There is so few shows on TV to watch anymore and ending Longmire is one more gone from my few shows to watch . Just don’t understand how good shows are cancelled / end, and bad shows go on and on and on.
I love this show. I am thankful that Netflix will at least not leave it’s fans hanging. This has been one of the best shows on TV.
Longmire has been a favorite show of our’s since it debuted on A&E several years ago. Stellar cast, excellent stories, beautiful scenery, the story of current Native American culture, and Netflix giving us more years than we dreamed, has been not only a predictor for the end of cable TV as we know it in the next decade and the rising of internet TV where we see more and more excellence in entertainment than we do on regular cable, has been a gift for the audiences who KNOW a good piece of entertainment than most cable networks do. This SUCKS, Longmire is one of the best show available. A fan FOREVER.
I am so very disappointed that Longmire will only have one more season. This is one of THE BEST shows – it always keeps me riveted – each episode is over too soon; leaving me highly anticipating the next. Intrigue, humor, characters – all spectacular. And the actors are equally fabulous. It’s just a shame – I know many people who only started on Netflix to be able to watch Longmire, and will be cancelling Netflix as soon as the run is over. It has just that powerful a fan-base. I hope Netflix reconsiders cancelling Longmire is a mistake. But… Read more »
